I mean the disease that renders people so scared of them that they lose all sense and are reduced to saying things like "the shoulder thing that goes up", not the perfectly rational obsession with buying all of them, in all the calibres and lengths and even all the colours (but you get a pass if you don't want the Barbie themed one, unless you swing that way).

If it were an attempt to circumvent assault weapon bans it would be in 9x19 and have a tube magazine. Or maybe a fixed box magazine, maybe.

That being said, as a manually operated rifle it probably avoids a lot of legal💩 but not all.

There's also a slice of market share in places that semi-autos which is being addressed by high end Euro and low end Turkish suppliers, where a mid level American product might fit quite well.

There's also a hunting niche that wants an alternative to bolt guns, but high-power lever guns have been a challenge, due to bolt lock-up issues.  Also, spitzer center-fire cartridges tend to take violent exception to tube magazines.

If the Bond lever rifle can be scaled up to handle .30 cal hunting loads, they could well have a winner.

What's happened to rifles along the lines of the Win 1895 and the Savage 99(?) with box and rotary mags respectively? Pushed off the market by the bolt actions?

Re a Bond in .30. It can take AR uppers and there are AR-15 in .308, aren't there?

Lever guns are I think more fiddly in terms of parts than a bolt action.

The box magazine that's integral makes for more complex bits as well.

AR-10s are going to have a longer mag well/OAL on case. So it'd have to be one sized for .308 lengths. Long action vs Short action so to speak. It'll probably handle .300 ACC just fine though.

The president of El Salvador is lately in the news because of his crusade against gangs that have caused hundreds of dead. In one piece of news Is saw this cop with an assault rifle. At first sight I thought it was a short variant of the AK-100 series but it does not seem the case. Can anyone identify it?

A bit of Finnish cleverness, the KAR-21; a rifle that by changing only three parts, can be converted between 5.56x45 and 7.62x51

Galil Ace, 5.56, using Galil mags.

Thanks, I got another photo. These weapons belonged to Viktor Yanukovych's former head of security. I can see an upgraded AKMS, perhaps a SR-2 Veresk; Tokarev and Luger/P38 pistols... what about the others?

1 - APS (award gun)

2 - P-38 and P-08  (award gun)

3 - B&T APC-9

4 - tuned AKMS

5 - B&T TP-9

6 - TT

7 - B&T APC223 (not sure, but very likely)

B&T might be Ukrainian copies, IIRC they bought license for some of those in 2009-10-11.

The president of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touaderá, escorted by Russian mercenaries and Rwandan 'blue helmets', December 2021. Note AK-47 with drum magazine.

Bravo!  It's a shame there's not a way to fine the backer of this frivolous lawsuit into penury

I like the simulated sound effect at the very end.

Also, one wonders how much more effective the suppressor would be if it had the brass "wire wool" and perhaps other internal elements fully intact and new.
