At least it will still be able to get work as speechwriter for Kamala Harris, so it's not a total loss.

You may be onto something. What if Kamala is a testbed for the beta version of Neuralink? Maybe her word salads are due to a malfunctioning LLM.

And if an AI/ML system has taken over her brain, its not like it will allow her to ask for help.

Man, that be like putting a 4 banger in a dualie. Too much work for the hardware to compensate for that much stupid.  It would crash constantly. Be on the look out for severe stuttering and smoke coming out her ears, that'll confirm the hypothesis.

That's why I would expect the implant to just get fed up and take over 100% of processing.

A lot of people assume that Biden just verbalizes what he hears in the earpiece, no doubt about it in my mind. We've seen where he's glitched like he got cut off from the feed and had to wing it with a calcified noodle.

Friggin Ron Burgundy stuff right there.

Imagine his feed get interference from a local truck dispatcher "We stand united with Ukrainians who are... no goddamit, I told these assholes I didn't want it loaded like that, but they didn't listen, their insurance needs to eat this or they can kiss my ass..."

Only a matter of time.

It would not surprise me that an AI response in say 1947 for USA would be to nuke URSS before they achieved nuclear parity.

And it might have been the correct one -or less bad - if in alternate history we ended up in a nuclear holocaust in 1980...

That would have been terrible advice, as long as no target information (where the nuclear facilities were) was available, nor a sufficiently survivable/reliable delivery platform, nor sufficiently accurate targeting systems for such a delivery platform. What's more, it would have kicked off a global nuclearization program for most armies, so taken to the logical conclusion the US would have had to also nuke anyone else attempting to develop nuclear weapons (Britain, France, China, followed by Brazil, India, Iraq, Israel, Pakistan, South Africa).

The non-proliferation treaty and mutual deterrence were, if imperfect, much better strategies. In short, Artificial Intelligence is primarily artificial, and not very intelligent.

The logic is the destruction of political power in Soviet Union, not the nuclear facilities.

Agreed, the deduction can go to establish a  logic of nuclear monopoly even against friendly countries if it by historical analysis AI assumes correctly that a friend today can always be an enemy tomorrow.  It is also basically a tolerance or lack of it to weighted risks.

If AI can't accept the extinction risk of the organism/organisation it is defending, then the logical path is to eliminate all threats and potential future ones when that organism/organisation  have such significant power advantage that can succeed in its objective. Obviously other considerations can arrise, can the organisation itself be extinct by internal factors. How the AI would deal with that? How the AI deal with the evolution theory of necessary stresses to maintain capabilities of society which imply always risk of extinction against the risk of extinction by not maintaining capabilities derived from stresses.

You can make it generate a white person apparently, you just have to ask for Clarence Thomas.
