AFAIR the AESA radar would be standard equipment on each MBT and it could be used to share targets between MBT's with BMS, along target identificating and locating. Also it was stated that it is the same radar T-50 (PAK-FA) use.
  2. Thanks! So no 3 MBT HQ?
  3. ok that explains on tank...did Sqn's get 5th troop too? Or is troop now with 4 MBT's?
  4. Dunno, there's some IDF tankers that are still kicking about. Sorry I don't count them to same level - hence real... Edit: I do respect Israelis skills but IMO its is bit different thing! Check out Zvika Greengold. I've read about him and he and couple others - they are magnificent. But for ME the 5 years in eastern front and survive with 100+ destroyed tanks is just that makes them the Real Ace's. I would maybe call Greengold&co Modern Tank Ace's...but this just my own honest opinion!
  5. Yep, but as I love tigers it would have been better if the T-43 would have been burning and Tiger roaring by!

  7. I was reading about EX BLACK EAGLE 14 and noted that BA sent A Squadron from The King's Royal Hussars as a part of Lead Armoured Battle group. The text said that A Squadron has 18 Challenger 2's (text say that they took 20 with them to Poland, 2 served as a maintenance reserve). I got interested...I learn that there is Type 56 Armoured Regiment. Last when I read about BA Tank (Sabre) Squadrons (back in -11?) they had 14 Challenger 2's (2 SQ HQ, 3x4 Troops) at ...So then the question is when this happen and what are the extra 4 MBT's?
  8. This. + old fashion design that caused maintenance after shooting to be time intense nightmare were the reasons why FDF selected Bushmaster II over Bofors L70
  9. Don't know about M1, but usually those are used on lots of different application. Besides its is quite cheep to but on extra connector and 2 feet of electric wire... For example all Leopard 2's have a plug for general external power besides of left head lamp.
  10. No probs. Not for Nordic forces; we've used to it. Due terrain there is such vehicles like MT-LBv's and Bandvagn's - no one in his senses would got to swamp with IFV or MBT, but with those you can... Same applies to snow and ice; crews get used to it. This I agree you fully! As numbers of combat forces are winding down its allows armies to rise the relation of support units/vehicles to combat units/vehicles...
  11. Hägglunds that is part of BAe nowdays. No. I don't think that we need ARV's more than other armies do.
  12. You are so right...this goes especially to countries that still has conscription...
