Hi... Went to see CM with the wife and my son. They both thought it was pretty good... I thought it just fair. To be honest, I had low expectations after reading all the reviews and the leftist political garbage that had been streaming out of Larson's mouth lately. I thought the writing was below the standard I have come to expect from the MC studios. I also thought the golden glow around CM looked a bit cheesy at times. I thought Jackson pretty much stole the movie. The cat is a better actor than Larson, IMHO. Not quite as bad as Iron Man 3 in my opinion. For a female lead superhero movie...it fell far short of Wonder Woman. Glad I didn't pay for IMAX or 3D tickets. First superhero movie I didn't buy those tickets for. I suppose the plan is for CM to swoop in and singlehandedly save the day in Endgame...and probably get rid of a bunch of the Marvel heroes in the process to clear the way for Captain Marvel to take over leadership of whatever follows the Avengers as they have made her the most powerful entity in the universe. Girl power???

Hi... Pretty sure this will be the last John Wick film...even Keanu Reeves will begin to age and be unable to do that level of action film again. Besides, he is just as likely to decide to do "serious" movies again. Replicas will probably provide the impetus for that move...that was one Godawful mess.

Hi... I turned it on a couple of minutes into the game and it was already 7-7. Still racking up points at a high rate. Couple of minutes left in the first half and Clemson is leading 28-16. Hoping for a Clemson win...not a fan of Alabama or Nick Saban.

Hi... I generally use an Uncle Mike's shooting glove for any handgun shooting with my .357Mag revolvers on up through .44Magnum. I also use it with Ruger only loads in my .45Colt revolvers. Shooting gloves truly ameliorate the felt recoil in your hands and wrist. I recommend them to anybody shooting any Magnum or Ruger only level handguns. I started using them many years ago after I suffered a stress fracture in my right wrist. I had to wear a soft cast on my wrist for nearly an entire shooting season. My doctor recommended them. Learned two things that year...how to shoot left handed and to wear shooting gloves.

Hi... I had heard that story back in the day as well. Never understood the why however...my first .44Magnum revolver was a Model 29 and I didn't find shooting it any different than shooting my .41Magnum Ruger BlackHawk. Recoil about the same, muzzle flip about the same and the noise level less than a .357Magnum with full power 125gr Hornady HP/XTPs. I have been shooting near book maximum reloads in my various .44Magnum revolvers for many years and I have never had any problem controlling the recoil. My son started shooting handguns with me at about 8 years old and tells me that he remembers shooting my .44Magnums when he was 8-10 years old. I started him with a .22LR revolver and slowly worked him up through the calibers. He thoroughly enjoys shooting full power reloads. I have seen grown men shooting revolvers at the gun club with the gun recoilling up over their head with each shot and have noticed that they typically only shoot a couple of cylinderfuls before they pack up. I have on many occasions shot over a hundred ful power handloads through my various .357, .41 and .44 Magnum revolvers plus large numbers of Ruger only level handloads in my .45Colt revolvers in one range trip with no ill effects, so I can only surmise that either they are trying to put on a show or simply don't know how to shoot a revolver. I do notice they typically have trouble shooting a decent group...maybe their guns aren't very accurate. I recently shot a .475Linebaugh for the first time. Much more powerful than any .44Magnum. I liked it a lot...so much so that I am seriously considering acquiring one. My son shot it as well and was impressed also.

+1My mountain/desert carry gun a S&W Model 625-5 .45 Colt with a good cast RCBS 270 Keith SWC. I also have a box of Speer shot capsules and some #9 shot around here somewhere if I wanted make a snake load. Other option is a S&W Model 329 PD in .44 Mag, but although great gun for carry, it is not any fun to shoot even with .44 Spc loads. Hi... It has been many years since I have shot any thing more than an occasional factory load out of any of my handguns except .22LR/Mag and 9mm. I have never fired a shot load out of a handgun. I have shot one or two copperheads around the house with my handloaded LSWCs with excellent terminal results. I be imagine some aftermarket grips might ameliorate the recoil of your revolver. I shoot a lot of rounds of near book maximum reloads in all of my handguns and actually enjoy the recoil impulse. I mostly own full size autoloaders and revolvers which helps to minimize recoil but I shoot a lot so it's possible that I am simply more experienced. About the smallest revolvers I shoot are a K frame sized Taurus .44Spl and a Cimarron Mason/Richards .38Spl conversion. The Cimarron is easy to control with full power .38Spl rounds...the Taurus is a bit of a handful when shooting 240gr LSWC with 7.5grs of Unique. That same load is very controllable in my Lipsey's flat top Ruger BlackHawk .44Spl and actually kind of tame when loaded in .44Magnum cases for my various .44Mag revolvers.

Hi... Personally I see no practical use for revolvers such as the Judge. I carry a handgun pretty regularly and much prefer a standard JHP or LSWC for self defense or hunting. I typically carry a 1911 in .45ACP but when hiking or hunting with a handgun generally carry a revolver chambered in .41Magnum,.45Colt, .44Spl or.44Magnum. I do on very rare occasions carry a S&W 1917 in .45AutoRim. The only time I carry a .357Magnum handgun is when I am hunting groundhogs with a revolver. I have nearly 50 years experience shooting, carrying and hunting with handguns and have not yet found any need for a handgun such as a Judge.

I had considered going to the Reading airshow. Haven't been in several years. There was a huge two-day gun auction that weekend that took precedence...and a lot of my money. I did manage to win an auction for a very nice Mannlicher-stocked Interarms Mark X in 7x57Mauser. Won some auctions on a large amount of reloading tools and supplies...some I can use and some that I expect to flip for a nice profit. Unfortunately, my own AFV is most probably not in the budget.

Hi... I haven't been posting much here lately. I went through a couple of major health challenges the last several years. I have overcome, so far at least, all of the them to the point that I returned to work last August after a 14-month stint of disability. Despite several guarantees/promises that my position would be waiting for me when I returned, the exact opposite occurred. My position was taken away and I was forced into what I considered a menial role although my pay was not diminished. Apparently, this is legal but it certainly isn't moral nor is it right. After some contemplation, it occurred to me that after all of these years in the work force I no longer wished to be mistreated simply because it was legal. So...two days ago, I retired. I am 63 years old and in good shape financially but broken down physically by three bouts of cancer(two of which came with terminal diagnosis), seven major operations, two strokes, 70+ radiation treatments, six months of chemotherapy including over a dozen spinal chemotherapy injections. Both terminal diagnosis have been rescinded,all tumors are inactive including a brain tumor that blinded me in my right eye for several months and my only medical treatments consist of follow up checkups every few months. My wife, who was absolutely furious when I returned to work instead of continuing on disability as my doctor recommended is thoroughly pleased. I have several home improvement projects to oversee here at the estate, several hunting trips planned, a tour of the southern Civil War battlefields planned, a trip to Knob Creek for a machine gun shoot in October planned and quite a few new firearms to work with and test, plus a personal library of military history and paleontology books to study that will last me years to go through. I spent all day yesterday looking at new Cub Cadet lawn tractors as my 15 year old Cub Cadet is starting to show its age and today after the dogs morning run, I went on a little tour of some of the local gun shops. Tomorrow I am going to a gun show in Harrisburg, Pa. which will probably end up costing me money. I refuse to just sit around in my retirement. I believe that is tantamount to suicide It has only been two days and I already wonder why I didn't do this a year ago. Oh...and I have two three year old Labrador retrievers to take care of any free time I might have.

Hi... Don't know about being addicted, but I can't go too long without having a large grilled ribeye, medium rare with a baked potato and sauteed portabella mushrooms. I start to get a bit weird if I don't have a grilled swordfish steak pretty regularly also. There is also a local bologna here in southcentral Pennsylvania that I eat too much of...Seltzer's Sweet Lebanon Bologna. A plate of that with a variety of cheeses and some wheat crackers while watching a ballgame on television makes me fairly content.

Hi... Went to see Thor: Ragnorak over the weekend. Pretty good movie...lots of action, lots of humor. All in all, a good movie. No Oscars for sure, but the box office was huge so obviously the public likes it. It should be interesting to see how the final scene ties into the upcoming Infinity War movie...I think I know but we'll see. Looking forward to Justice League in a few weeks to see if it can compete dollar-wise with Thor: Ragnorak. I imagine if it trails too badly there may be some rethinking of the announced DC Comics movie upcoming schedule. Obviously, they will certainly make at least one more Wonder Woman movie regardless of how Justice League performs, but I can see where Aquaman and Flash might be dropped if the box office for Justice League isn't close to their rivals at Marvel latest offering. I think Cyborg will be made regardless...DC needs(if for nothing more than publicity and political correctness)a character of color to compete with the upcoming Marvel Black Panther movie.

Hi... Saw American Made last weekend. A little fast and loose with the facts but an entertaining movie nonetheless. I can't really recommend it other than as a cautionary tale. How did James Garner say it??? Yeah...that's the way it happened...give or take a lie or two... Probably go see Geostorm this weekend...if for no other reason to see the special effects. Not really expecting an epic movie, just a couple hours of escapism.
