Ivanhoe Posted January 23 Posted January 23 This is probably not the best way to earn promotion points.
Ssnake Posted January 23 Posted January 23 There are types of ground where this can happen surprisingly quickly.
bojan Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Described by the tanker friend you are going nicely and suddenly tank is sinking into soil. Ground can often be solid enough to drive over it, but any attempt to turn or stop will lead to sinking into it.
Tim Sielbeck Posted January 23 Posted January 23 We parked one night at Ft. Stewart and everything was fine. We got up the next morning, about six hours later, and the tank had sunk into the ground to its belly.

Ivanhoe Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I recall getting my 4WD Toyota pickup stuck on a "dirt" road in Arizona. The "dirt" turned out to be mostly grayish clay and was still wet from recent rains. Thank goodness I had a shovel in the back, I was able to repurpose about an 1/8 acre of vegetation to regain a little traction.
Ssnake Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I have nothing but disdain for people who get their car stuck offroad, have no shovel with them, and even if they do, simply throw up their arms and claim that "nothing can be done about it". You're just stupid, lazy fuckers with too much money to throw around.
