There is no doubt in my mind that the Man Cave concept is a good idea in general.

When I was in grad school, one of my new professors had a cookout. He had retired out of civil service and taken a teaching position. His civil service job had him on the road like 40 weeks a year, so he was mostly home only on the weekends. His wife said she was delighted he got the teaching position as it got him out of the house, she had spent decades having the house to herself and having him home disrupted her routines.
