Thunderbolt-6 Posted April 21, 2002 Posted April 21, 2002 This is an update... I originally posted my details on 5 Jan 02, some has changed: Name: MikeAge: 36Country: USAService: Army... 19 years. I enlisted in 1983, first Reserves, then National Guard, and now Active Duty. 11B Infantryman first, then 54B Chemical sergeant. Staff Sergeant when I went to OCS. Armor Captain now, working on Major, I was assigned inside the Beltway (I used to work with A.ndy, and served in the same battalion with him for 3 years), but I got time off for good behavior... actually I made a royal pain in the a** of myself until they transferred me. I'm now at Fort Knox. Looking forward to meeting whoever comes by the Patton Museum on Independence Day. Interest: See my profile. I'm expanding my interests to include urban warfare, anyone with background or specialized knowledge (especially current) feel free to contact me. Tanknet: A friend sent me the link, I liked what I saw. I still do. I'd like to congratulate some of the heavy posters (you know who you are) for consistently good comments and insight, I'd also like to particularly commend the staff for their excellent jobs of keeping flames, personal attacks, and egregious bull**it to a minimum. Comments: Good stuff... I refer to the informed and intelligent inquiry and debate that goes on. I specifically except some of the silly bs that appears from time to time: I was a smart and well-informed 17 year old once, and I was cocky too. But try not to engage your mouth (or typing) before your brain. Think before you post and be willing to accept honest criticism (not personal attacks) for what it is. I use this forum for research, by the way, so some of you may end up contributing more to the US Army than you might think. By the same token, I conduct reasonable self-censorship. Sorry, but this is an open forum. Quotes: "You can love the Army but the Army won't love you back.""Rome did not become an empire by having meetings. Rome became an empire by killing everyone who opposed them." I'm still waiting for "Baghdad delenda est." Working on it, though. Is 10,000 pallets of salt considered Class IV, IX, or X?
