In that day i lost power like by 1133 got back around 2125, cellphones depending on company and nearby antenna, mine worked until 16-1700, but cell internet only until 1300 or so and with increasingly difficulty until then. The official powerline website wnt down right at 1133 so much for their management, only by 1900 got a government message...very bad management overall.

I am still waiting for RETAC21 and Sunday indemnity!

Edit to add: google.pt failed shortly after blackout started but .com obviously worked until the internet went down.

Hey, complain to Sunday, I had to work until 20:00!! :D

Was there a rush to save all the beers from warming up like over here?

It was a major clusterfuck brought about by our idiotic government that apparently was trying to make a show that all the energy in Spain could be generated by solar and wind and caused massive instability that eventually caused everything to fail, because the safeguards were overriden. When you put idiots in command, you get disasters as a result.

The American NERC also has a report, with recommendations for the US system:

Once again showing that AC-AC interconnects can propagate instability.

The rest of America likes to deride Texas for "not having interconnects" but Texas chose to limit interconnects to DC-DC with grids that were willing to cooperate with that approach.
