I notice on his website it will be up 'for at least a year', so Im currently PDFing as much of it as I can. Really it warrants being hosted up on Archive.org, its really to valuable a source to lose.

RETAC21 Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 This is the one post I truly hate to make. Ken Estes was diagnosed with dementia with Lewy bodies 3 years ago, but earlier this year his situation took a turn for the worse when he was in the US, including a fall and breaking a hip, to the point that he needed to be in a caring home. Only recently his wife has managed to get him back to Spain into a proper caring home, where he's now resting. If you want to get in contact, drop me a private message.
Tim the Tank Nut Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 our casualty rate is getting worse and worse.
NickM Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 Just now, Tim the Tank Nut said: our casualty rate is getting worse and worse. Oh Lord! I'll keep Ken in my prayers.

He was gracious and gave me a copy of his "Marines Under Armor."
sunday Posted July 19, 2025 Posted July 19, 2025 Horrible news. Meet Ken several times, and he always was nice and kind.
futon Posted July 19, 2025 Posted July 19, 2025 I had the opportunity for the pleasure to give a little help with his Super Heavy Tanks book. He sent me a signed copy. I have his Marines Under Armor book as well. Sad to hear the news.

He really appreciated your help, and the japanese part of the book would have been impossible without it, he mentioned it several times.

Yeah, he said that to me in our message exchange as well. With the great difference between him and me in seniority, knowledge, and position in the field, that was very gracious of him.

I really can't think of anything halfway adequate. Just wish him well from me, and relate that we are all thinking of him. Jesus, life is too goddamn cruel.
Ivanhoe Posted July 22, 2025 Posted July 22, 2025 https://www.reuters.com/world/us/cosby-show-star-malcolm-jamal-warner-dies-by-drowning-54-2025-07-21/ Quote LOS ANGELES/SAN JOSE, July 21 (Reuters) - American actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who played Bill Cosby's son Theo on the 1980s groundbreaking television hit "The Cosby Show," died at age 54 on Monday by drowning, a law enforcement source confirmed to Reuters. Warner was vacationing in Costa Rica with his family, media reported. The Central American nation's judicial investigation department (OIJ) confirmed that a U.S. citizen with the last name Warner had drowned after being pulled out to sea by a rip current. Despite being typecast by his role on the Cosby Show, he managed to keep working. I thought he did a good job on the episodes of the Jeremiah series that I watched.
