A long time ago,  I recall stumbling across a British drama, set in the Victorian Era. The story involved an Indian Independence terrorist named Lal, who was setting off bombs in London for the cause. The reason it stood out was because a well known British novelist was aiding in his pursuit. 

Does that premises ring any bells?
