speaking of shutdown

really there is a command headquarters above biden- obama and pelosi by the look of things

obama looks entirely too unsurprised and relaxed because according to the movie biden is

performing at his best even better than young men

so freezing on stage like this should be a surprise

notice how obama's body language like as if they he knows what is going on and is trying to keep up appearances

there are numerous examples of it being there

you might understand how the party might cover this up

watching the media do it  and basically acting as the stenographer for the party

and the effect on the public which either is not seeing it

or seeing it yet somehow it is not sinking in

Thursday on social media platform X, with the prospect of a government shutdown looming, independent investigative journalist and former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson shared what she called a “[q]uick story about govt. shutdowns and the theatrics behind them.”

Attkisson recalled that around 2013, she and CBS News colleagues searched in vain for a government shutdown’s “real life impact.”

“When we couldn’t find any, *that* should have been part of the story. Instead, we kept trying to create the appearance of an impact,” she wrote.

The fabrication came in the form of cordoning off public monuments in Washington, D.C.

“We knew and even discussed in the newsroom that this made no sense. These monuments weren’t ‘manned’ to begin with,” she wrote.

Honesty is not really their thing.

Missing Congresswoman found in assisted living home.  Sad.  Very sad.  Term limits now.  The Rs need to be ashamed of this.

The missing Congresswoman in question is Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX), who represents Texas' 12th Congressional District, which includes the Fort Worth area west of Dallas in Tarrant County. Granger's last known vote in the House appears to be in July when she voted "no" on HR8998, a bill that would reduce the salary of Deputy Assistant Administrator for Pesticides Program Ya-Wei (Jake) Lee to $1. Since then, she has no recorded votes.

Agreed, a failure all round. Her staff both in DC and in Texas should be tarred and feathered, along with whatever Congressional groups she was in.

As for the shutdown;

Johnson and House Republicans at least tried to pass the 12 appropriations bills. Six of the 12 were brought to a vote, and five passed. But in the Democratic-controlled senate, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) refused to bring a single appropriations bill to the floor for a vote. Instead, he dedicated every minute of available floor time to jamming through President Joe Biden’s last judicial nominees to ensure that President-elect Donald Trump could not fill vacancies in the federal court system.

But Johnson could have navigated the negotiations with Democrats far better if he had simply listened to what his conference was willing or unwilling to accept. Instead, he tried to impose more top-down rule and, in doing so, put his own job in jeopardy.

There was always something hinkey about the way Johnson miraculously got the Speakership. Someone is pulling his strings.
