TAUNUS
If anybody is interested in tank transmissions and steering systems i have written a very long and detailed article about the Cross Drive CD-850 transmission found in Patton tanks and also went into explaining the Merritt Brown system through Z51R from Centurion and TN.12 from Chieftain and comparing it to the Cross Drive series. It is a bit long around 78000 words and 450 pages but if anybody is interested on such topic here is the link below. sunday
Looks very good indeed. A minor detail: perhaps it would be better to have the full document split by chapters on different pages, and not all in one massive page. Many thanks for sharing that work! Yes i should ve done that, when i started writing it i thought it would be even shorter than my Leopard-1 Zf 4HP 250 article which was around 38000 words so i didnt want to split it up since it wasnt massively long. But as i kept writing it ended up at 78k words and i just kept continuing without splitting it into other chapters on seperate articles so it ended up being one gigantic article 😅 I put table of contents to make it a bit more bearable with jump links where you can click on them and jump to that section but the table of content thing wasnt very good either. im going to write another one of these for tiger 1 gearbox and in that i will make sure to split it into chapters on different articles so each article will be shorter overall. The article is mostly about the CD-850 but i also put a lot of stuff regarding z51r and the tn12, the part where i go into detail about centurion and chieftain is in here "Comparison of Triple Differential Steering Systems" and also some information about the chieftain in "TORQUE AND VELOCITY SPLIT" section, you can find both of these sections in table of contents and click it and it will jump into that section directly 👍.
