I take it it's a safe bet you didn't listen to the audio, Murph.  I'm also going to try and give Tim the benefit of the doubt and say he didn't listen to it... because if he did and he's making those claims (I stopped 2m into that YT vid... there are better things to do with my life than listen to BS like that) than he is a complete dumbass.

The two quotes Tim is referencing (though he fucks up the one the guy makes) come at the beginning and end of the audio tape.  They're both laughing when they make those comments because... they're said in jest, which is pretty clear from listening to the audio.  What Tim ignores (again, I could only give his garbage a few mins of listening) is another part in the middle of the tape when both Lake and the guy are talking seriously and they both state they don't think these 'benefactors' actually would hurt anyone.

And, yet again, you're blind or have terrible google skills, Murph (which is a crazy thing to say because all you have to do is type 'Kari Lake' into google), because this story is everywhere.  You know what else is fascinating... none of these stories (be it national MSM or local outlets and talk radio) mention the bit about assassination... BECAUSE IT'S NOT A SERIOUS THING FROM THE AUDIO CLIP. 

It is an interesting insight into the rather normal backdoor shenanigans that go on in politics (and highlights that HBO makes these events out to be way more glamorous than they really are).  I'm curious who these folks are that are trying to get her not to run.  She hints it could be DeSantis' supporters, it could also be old school R donors... but a thought that crossed my mind is it could be Trump and his people.  Lake is a divisive figure here in AZ that really only holds sway with the MAGA crowd which is why she lost in her race for governor.  Early polls show her losing in her Senate race against a fairly Liberal D candidate (not because AZ has gone blue, but because we're no fans of the MAGA crowd and Trump's minions).  Like, if Trump has half the brains some give him credit for he wouldn't want her to run as a loyalist and lose... but get someone else in there that could win and bump the R majority.  There have been some articles highlighting how her always hanging around Trump in the last year has gotten to be... excessive and annoying.

It's nothing really new for this site, it always had a lot of unhinged people. It got worse during the Obama years and when Trump first showed up in politics, and then during the pandemic, some users just completely lost it.

It's always interesting to go into the posting history, because over time, a lot of these people seem to have lost their interest in the military-themed content of this site and spend most of their time in the crazy FFZ threads. It's kind of sad really.

With Murph, after he became completely incoherent during the last election, going into crazy rants about "Demon-Rats" or "DemoKKKrats", he went on a two-year pause and seemed mostly OK at first after he came back here. Now it's back to his other self, I guess.
