Franz Reuther died at age 82 in Miami. Born and raised in Rhineland-Palatinate he clawed his way to great commercial success in the international music business as Germany's sole music producer giant. Early successes came from faking a disco pop band in the studio with tape machines, then hiring Jamaican singers as demand for live concerts could no longer be resisted. Repeated his success with another pop group in the late 1980s/early 90s until the hired singer-actors became uppity and he pulled the rug from under them.

Franz Reuther was better known under his artist name, Frank Farian, Godfather of Boney M and Milli Vanilli.

Your arithmetic must be wrong. I distinctly recall devouring the news during the Falklands Misunderstanding when I was a young man, and I'm barely in middle age.

When I was about 12, I went to Yeovilton museum, dedicated to the Fleet Air Arm. On a very worn out vcr, they showed someone  flyinga Sea Harrier into a landing in at Pebble Mill studios in the middle of Birmingham, on a popular daytime program in the late 70s and early 80s.A very impressive bit of flying.

It was only reading his memoirs some 30 years later, I realised it was flown by Sharkey Ward. He was still furious the RAF put the markers in the wrong position. :D

According to my ancient Windows Mark 7 calculator 2024 - 1982 = 42. I was four years into Uncle Sam's Navy during the Falklands conflict.

I prefer the Stratos

His initial Stratos Zero - an exercise also to design the lowest sport car possible is also amazing.
