I'm surprised we don't have a thread on this, and nothing surfaced despite my pathetic search attempts.

That said, for all the rest of you knuckledraggers across the globe who took one step forward and served your countries

let us wash away our collective memories of 'The Suck' with copious volumes of alcohol.

(Same shit, different continents and centuries - amIright?)

Just put a cross on the grave of Sergeant Arthurs, the sole war grave in our village. Died in August 1943 on a training flight, when his Lancaster had a middair with a Wellington Bomber, on a training flight over Oxfordshire. RIP.

I had a veteran in the store today from the USS Midway.  A tech on the old F8, which wasn't old at the time.  Still working Saturdays after all these years...

If I recall correctly, he was a big fan of the Allison.
