I can't say about Israel internal politics (it is up to them after all), but since Russian energy is still powering pro-Ukrainians, and not only them - i would at least like to see "stupid Russian military class show for internal consumption" for example vs. Rada building. lucklucky Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 (edited) Obviously i have no problem hitting buildings that matter. But striking buildings do not degrade Hamas significantly. Edited October 7, 2023 by lucklucky

Strannik Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 I suppose one general and twenty soldiers technically would make this claim correct 😄
crazyinsane105 Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Tel Aviv is being hit with rockets yet again. What happened to Iron Dome? This was a relatively effective system, but it’s showing some serious deficiencies now. Israeli response so far seems to be very sluggish at the moment.

Maybe quantity? it is also possible they were targeted .

One claim is there was so many rockets, they saturated the system. Another is some units were not mobilized because it was a surprise attack they were not expecting. This is disconcerting.
lucklucky Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 It took 14 hours for Israel to stop electrical energy to Gaza. The incompetence is staggering.
Stuart Galbraith Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Call of Duty called, they want their game back. I'll bet a fiver to a pound of shit, Iran was behind this.

Stuart Galbraith Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 It's disconcerting we have been watching this new warfare for over a year and a half, and the IDF was completely surprised by it.
lucklucky Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 (edited) Touche. Actually for Israel is even worse, they have drones of that kind almost from 10 years go. And imagination could have made them even ealier. The problem is that military culture specially the high echelons like high end stuff only. Edited October 7, 2023 by lucklucky

The same is said by pro-Russians who watch Israel SOF/SWAT walking into battle in dense groups, ideat target for drones.... By the way have anybody allready blamed Russia for this attack? Today is Putin's 71st birthday....

Saying on TV "A high rise tower in Gaza was demolished" is indeed for internal consumption, to ease the minds of Israelis that the IDF is working. This is particularly important because Israelis typically berate the IDF for striking dunes and empty shacks. But that does not mean it's without practical purpose. The IAF doesn't strike high rise towers just for show, and indeed most strikes are not provided for the media. The single reference to a destroyed high rise tower I know of is to one which housed Hamas political activity of some sort. Considering the IAF follows international intelligence, incrimination, and strike standards, and even exceeds them in many areas, we know it doesn't strike simple civilian infrastructure. High rise towers are an excellent spot for the storage of weapons, "soft" measures like emitters (comms, radars, jammers etc), observation, combat positions, and most importantly, convergence points for Hamas's extensive tunnel system. The idea is to shield these assets by having Israel risk bad publicity, as well as elevated risk of civilian casualties.
