Stuart Galbraith Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Just discovered this first rate BBC documentary from the 1970's, on the development of secret weaponry and its employment in WW2. On the negative side, it does include some things we know now not to be true, such as the Germans didnt really realise whe had an operational Radar system, and claims like the ME262 was only to be built as a bomber. However, on the positive side, its got interviews with RV Jones on the Battle of the Beams. It features an interview with the first man to operate a radar received that picked up a Handley Page Heyford. It has interviews with the guys who invented the Cavity magnetron and Sir Bernard Lovell. And perhaps one of the most interesting features, the first man to defuse an air dropped German Mine, complete with dramatic reconstruction. Well worth watching.
