Sardaukar Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Seems that thing is in this instance bit too stealthy
urbanoid Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 If you find a box of crayons in the cockpit, it means you found the correct F-35.

Stuart Galbraith Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Yes, yes put a tracking device in a stealth jet, what a truly awesome idea.
DB Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Aside from it being fairly standard practice for "stealth" jets to carry removable radar reflectors to allow primary radar returns for deconfliction of civil navigation, they also carry IFF which can double as a secondary radar transponder for the same purpose. It's unlikely that the F-35 would have been undetected if it had been inside secondary radar coverage, so all joking aside, its being stealth will have nothing to do with its not being tracked.

Stuart Galbraith Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Chinese seem to have already found it.
shep854 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 The pilot sounded a bit rattled in the audio. Understandable, considering he just got blasted out of an airplane.
