Ivanhoe
Stumbled across this from Meloni; Pretty salty! I realized I hadn't read anything about Meloni after her electoral victory, not much on Youtube even. Though the auto-translate to English is kinda wonky, I found this a bit interesting;
sunday
Very interesting videos about what is taken as far right nowadays. Also, I find calling far right any posture that deviate in spirit from the common, Leftist mentality while observing the current law system very dangerous. Dangerous because when the real far right appear, there will be lot of people that would think they are not a big deal, after seeing some so-called far right in action. The boy that cried wolf, in other words. Edited July 27, 2023 by sunday
urbanoid
Oh, I think they'll know. And if the so-called 'far-right' of today won't keep its promises on important topics like migration, where actually Giorgia seems to be backtracking, they'll actually vote for the real far-right themselves. Illegal immigration into Italy is soaring and Meloni said she's going to approve 425k work permits for non-EU nationals in 2023-25 timeframe. She was elected largely on anti-immigration platform. BansheeOne
Well they called Meloni a post-fascist when she was elected. Of course that was because she was a former member of the youth wing of the unequivocally post-fascist Italian Social Movement. So she is in fact an ex-post-fascist, and voters shouldn't be surprised they got exactly that.

As someone was saying on a news program the other day, if Liberals dont sort Immigration out, then the far right will be given a chance to. Which seems fairly logical enough, however one might feel about it.

lucklucky
Quote A 103-year-old Italian woman with an expired driving licence has been busted by police while popping over to see friends at night in an uninsured car. It was 1am (0000 GMT) when police received a call about a vehicle driving dangerously in the centre of Bondeno, a town of 13,000 inhabitants near Ferrara, police said in a statement received by AFP on Thursday. The officers in the patrol car dispatched to the scene in the northern Emilia Romagna region were "greatly surprised when they discovered the year of the driver's birth", it said. Giuseppina Molinari, known as Giose, was born in 1920, "so is 103 years old but still capable of getting into a car and driving to Bondeno to meet friends", police said. She had "probably" got disorientated in the dark and lost her way, police said. Molinari's licence had expired two years previously. In Italy, drivers over 80 must undergo a medical exam every two years to renew their permits. The centenarian was fined and then taken home by police. But she has not resigned herself to staying at home. "I will buy myself a Vespa," an Italian brand of scooter, Molinari told local newspaper La Nuova Ferrara. https://timesofmalta.com/article/103yearold-italian-swaps-car-bike-licence-breach.1089181
