Stuart Galbraith Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Built up area? Ooh, I know this, it's, its? Nah, gone again.

Go where the combat units are not, profit like Underpants Gnomes.
Stuart Galbraith Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Also by Amanpour on CNN citing Wagner, suggesting negotiations with Lukashenko were successful and they are turning the column around.
X-Files Posted June 24, 2023 Author Posted June 24, 2023 Western MSM sources are [always] at least one phase line behind the twitterverse/telegramland. Jus' sayin'.
Murph Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 I do wonder how much of the Russian Army will either join the Wagner troops, or just sit on their hands? Either way it does not look good for Tsar Vladimir.
Laser Shark Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Reminds me a bit of this guy. He failed though.
Stuart Galbraith Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Yeah, noticed that all day. Well, he is still a force in being, he is still on the road to Moscow. I think we should probably wait till tomorrow. They might change their minds yet.
Yama Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 I think Prigozhin overplayed his hand quite badly. I'm pretty sure he has had tons of back-patters telling him how he should be the one running the military, not tha dunbass Shoigu: but few, if, any, of them are likely to actually stand against Putin and the security apparatus. Also, if things get to the proper bloodshedding, it is hard to sell any fraternity aspect to the regular Army. Finally, there seems to be no political support whatsoever. If Ukraine starts another offensive and makes gains, it will make Prigozhin look like a proper backstabber. Important aspect will be those related to frontline morale; Ukrainians are likely emboldened if it looks like keeping the pressure up might actually result to something. Meanwhile, Russian grunts might start to question what the heck is the point, if some Kremlin douches will just throw everything away for some personal gain.
BansheeOne Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Conclusion in time for the evening news, like every good operation. 😀👍
urbanoid Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Ok then, let's assume that the march is stopped like they say. In the morning Putin promised to deal with the 'traitors', now he's cutting a deal with them via Lukashenka. I certainly can't imagine his position being strong after all that. And what happens the next time Prigo is unhappy?

And what happens the next time Prigo is unhappy? Yes, exactly. If you want historical parallels, think of poor Wat Tyler. Meets King Richard II, gets a deal, everyone is happy, then the next moment the Kings Guards murder him, and the peasants revolt is dispersed. Human nature doesn't change very much.

Exactly this I have on my mind. So often rebels stopped by promises ended that way.
Mighty_Zuk Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 (edited) It's night in Russia. None's going to march on a city without night fighting capability. Wait for the morning, then judge. They're not some western army that has NVDs and thermals for everyone. Edited June 24, 2023 by Mighty_Zuk
