Kadyrov is 175cm, Putin is 170 cm tall - both are not tall, not short, more or less average.

The almighty google tells me the average male height in Russia is around 176 cm. So, Kadyrov is around average for a Russian. Putin, however, is short.

On that note, (to be at least in spirit of TN), local AK variant has longer stock than others, because even back in the '60s regular AK stock was considered too short for an average height of 18-26y/o conscripts.

He's still short IMO, just not super short.

Yeah. But it is good old British "Napoleon was a midget" thing going on again.

Also there is a question of point of reference, eg. for me most people are short :D

I know a former Marine who prefers the ergonomics of the M16 (vs the M4) because he is quite tall and considers the M4 a bit short. I have heard the same in Spain for Cetme-C vs L. Going back to tanks, Japanese crews struggle with the ergonomics of US tanks due to lower average height.

Surovikin's detention is now being reported pretty much as a fact.

Russia detains ‘General Armageddon’ in crackdown on pro-Wagner elites

Sergei Surovikin was known to have had good relations with warlord Yevgeny Prigozhin

Top Russian army general Sergei Surovikin has been detained as the Kremlin cracks down on Wagner sympathisers following the militia’s failed mutiny last week. Surovikin, a senior Russian general known to have a good relationship with Wagner’s leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, has not been heard from for several days and has been detained, according to three people familiar with the matter.

It remains unclear whether Surovikin, the deputy commander of Russia’s invasion force in Ukraine and head of its aerospace force, has been charged as a plotter in the uprising led by Prigozhin on Saturday, or simply detained for interrogation. Vladimir Putin has begun a clean-up operation at the top of the security services, members of the Moscow elite have said, with the president moving to quash critics, restore order and re-establish his dominance after the first coup attempt in Russia in three decades.

I just remembered, the same holds true for the Norwegian AG3 vs Bundeswehr G3. The stocks on the Norwegian ones are 2 cm longer.

Did you know that in China, where the average height is 5 foot 5 inches. Only the tallests of recuits are sent abroad. The idea is that other countries will see how big the Chinese are :)

The South Koreas do the same thing along the border. The contrast is particularly stark due to the markedly lower calories intake. It's one of my favorite trolls.

It is much less about calories and more about animal source proteins. Average male height in Serbia in 1914. was 167cm, now it is 181cm. For Montenegro it was 177cm in 1914, 183cm now. Back in 1914 Montenegrin diet included way more animal products (chees and milk in various forms primarily with probably more than average for period meat consumption also) vs Serbian one which was much more plant based. When diet changed and homogenized (mostly after WW2) so did a height difference.

They have got quite a bit taller in the last 30 years, not just me getting shorter. There is also a substantial height difference north to south. 30 years ago I could get clothes to fit me in local markets in Beijing, not in Guangzhou.

This was already published yesterday...

Colonel General Andrei Yudin denied the information that he, along with his boss, Colonel General Sergei Surovikin, is in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center in Moscow. He reported this to Ura.ru.

He is well within regular range, not standing out. Still, i do not see in what way it is influencing his political capability - he is not some sort of warlord who is supposed to lead his warriors into battle waving heavy sword....

Yes, like I already admitted earlier, is a pointless thing to focus on.

True, hence why the AG3F2 ended up with a more adjustable version of the retractable stock, though I'd rather they had gone with the M4 style stock that they also tested but didn't go with for some reason (probably too expensive).

Nothing that could be proven for either Kadyrov nor Israeli diplomats. Only underage girls and boys :D

As soon as Putin finds a reason to purge him, those videos will start leaking.

Physical stature is part of what makes up a persons charisma, and often famous people like actors or political leaders might try to cover their real height if they're short. Conversely, it leads to political opponents often being mocked as 'small men', implying that they're lacking in charisma and/or compensating their lack of height by (completely mythological) 'Napoleon complex'.

As noted, often-cited examples Napoleon and Hitler were not short men - Napoleon was roughly same height as his famous opponent Duke of Wellington, and taller than Nelson. Hitler was taller than Churchill or Stalin.

No accounting to propoganda either, Herr Hitler being notoriously short of one piece of anatomy.  So the propoganda suggested.  Notorious as truth being the first casualty, a sad indictment.

The Soviet autopsy revealed, he really did have only one. Im sure there is an untold story about that...
