Plane (Il-22) was reportedly taking off from airbase and got nothing to do with Wagner movement/

Plane did not, but apparently someone in Wagner thought that big 4-engined plane in very characteristic livery was a valid target.

Taking into consideration how tense was the situation, it is miracle that number of KIA is just about dozen, not thousands.

You do realize those are worst loses for VKS since some idiot Syrian blasted that airborne command center from the air? It is not "just dozen people", it is 3/12 remaining EW helos and 1/3 (or 5, don't remember ATM) comm aircrafts + trained operators and pilots?

Yes it was highlighted in numerous posts in pro-Rus TG channels. Still, it is far better than having this post-Soviet Civil War spilling to the streets of Rostov, Moscow and who knows what other places. Russia is in civil war  -that war started even prior to USSR collapse (see when Soviet Police from Tbilisi was shooting at Soviet Police of Ossetia) and will last for years to come, in one form or another.

Back to what is China's take from events

Wagner’s revolt weakening Putin’s authority ‘wishful thinking’ of the West: experts - Global Times (https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202306/1293134.shtml)

"Despite the Western media saying that the revolt exposed the weakness of the Putin administration, the rebellion was quelled in such a short period of time after Putin vowed to take decisive actions on Saturday morning. This in fact shows that the Kremlin maintains a strong capability of deterrence, which will further increase its authority, some experts said. "

"However, quelling the revolt in such a short period of time actually consolidated the authority of the Putin administration, which has little impact on the frontline battlefield between Russia and Ukraine," Cui said. "

""Thinking that this revolt targets Putin is wishful thinking, as some Western politicians are used to looking at Russian politics in their imagination, showing that they don't understanding the basic conditions of Russia," Wang said. "

No idea how accurate this is, but it would explain why they are posting up unattributable library pictures of Shoigu.

I'll just leave this here, for absolutely no reason at all.

Well, Putin is going to place nuclear weapons in Belarus (he bangs on about it every week the boring old fart), but last I heard they werent yet there. Presumably they would want to sort the security out first, or at least, so I would hope.

I do wonder though, Is it really the coolest idea to put nuclear weapons within reach of a man who just tried to launch a coup on Moscow? Perhaps my idea of what makes sense is considerably at variance with reality, I dont know....

Right, PMC in charge of nuclear weapons is very much straight from Bond movie...

Russia has a big problem

A few Russian units switched sides and joined Wagner in this little game... here they are:

1) Military unit 11659: Command of the 22nd Separate Guards Special Purpose Brigade (RosGvardia),
Commandant Company, 2nd Special Communications Detachment.

2) 411th Detachment of the 22nd Separate Guards Special Purpose Brigade, Stepnoy village, Rostov-on-Don.

3) Practically the entire 108th Bataysk GRU Spetsnaz Detachment with all of their Typhoon military vehicles.

4) Unit 14254: 387th Object "C" of the 12th Main Defence Ministry Directorate (nuclear) in the military town of Voronezh-45. Switched sides/surrendered without any resistance.

5) Border guards at Bugaevka checkpoint in Voronezh.

6) Entire FSB Federal Border Service of the regional command center for Voronezh region of the Central Military District.

7) FSB Border Service at Chertkovo customs & border checkpoint.

😎 Unit 7437: RosGvardia Spetsnaz motorized regiment.

9) Unit 3677: RosGvardia Separate Battalion in Voronezh.

10) Unit 63453: Separate Tank Brigade in Boguchar, Voronezh (MoD).

The largest problem is that the entire HQ from the 22nd SPF (SF) brigade switched sides... This unit is deployed to the front fighting in Ukr along side the 45th SF brigade at the front of the counter attack...

Its some of Russias best troops.
