I don't believe that to be legit: similar 'last logs' have been faked previously in spaceship accidents (like Challenger). Language looks too simplistic. Something like that may have happened though, as according to Rob McCallum (who was involved with the project in early stages) Titan had reported it had aborted the dive and dropped weights.
