24H Le Mans

After 50 years outside official Endurance participation Ferrari wins Le Mans in return. Toyota the dominant team in last years 2nd,  Caddilac ended 3rd place. Disappointment for Porsche and Peugeot that saw the privateer Glinkenhaus better placed at the end

In the lesser GT class Corvette won the race.

A part of the race while 5 hours to the end

Are you denigrating Toyota? I am sure they would have beaten a Ford since competitive culture in Ford don't exists anymore.   Btw Cadillac was 3rd.

Au contraire, my friend. Toyota is the foremost automotive firm nowadays.

In what direction? 😝

Reliability, mostly. Plus the most viable hybrid technology, despite that started as an alternative to the horrible Diesel engines Toyota used to employ.

Cadillac was third? Cadillac!??

I haven’t followed motorsports for years….please save the trouble of doing my own search and give me a linky to whatever vehicle wearing a Cadillac badge came in third in the 24 hours of Le Mans😀

I find noteworthy how modern LED lighting has enabled so much streamlining of car's front ends.

The Camaro vs Corvette part of the story was interesting. Traditional Camaro is going away, sad to say.

Back in the 1960s, there was pretty substantial rivalry between the Camaro team and the Corvette team. Specs for Camaro optional engines were always understated, compared to similar Corvette engines, because brand management. Dyno tests showed otherwise.

Any car company can be competitive in racing, if they do the right things. One thing racing proves is that executives all too often do the wrong things.

Yeah, with LED you can sculpt.

2024 is the last model year with a gas engine. RUMINT is that the follow-on Camaro will be kinda MustangE but smaller, compact 4-door sedan with only electric drive.

Really sad for we Americans, all of the V engine options in the current Camaro are really good motors (even the V-6 is strong, and GM has a bad record of weak V-6s), better reliability record than the Mustangs. A couple of years ago I was toying with the idea of getting a Camaro RS (V-6) with the 1LE track package. More than fast enough, and pretty trackable (not tractable!) handling according to reviews.
