I did a little reading on the recent vulnerability that enables the use of Windows Update to make a system easily hackable.

But wait, there's more!

It turns out, apparently, that when Windows Update downloads and installs a major feature update, the Windows.old folder has world write privilege enabled. If I understand it correctly, an attacker with regular user rights can replace files in Windows.old with malicious versions, then rollback the last major update.
