HMS Glasgow vandalized?

Recommended Posts

In times of social unrest, a bit of deliberate damage has to be a concern.  While wacky, I sometimes wonder about  KC-46 issues, since the Seattle area is not exactly a hotbed of patriotism.  PoW also; engine and propeller tech should be down cold.

It has happened before. I recall BAE had some Hawks damaged on the production line because they were being supplied to Indonesia IIRC, used in the war in East Timor. Anyway came to court, and they were all acquitted by the Jury, despite it being fairly evident they did it.

Warships though, particularly over a contract, is new. And TBH, considering the problems the POW had, I wonder if there is a systemic problem in the way Warships are observed by the MOD through construction.

Do you live in the PNW? About the only sign of a lack of "patriotism" I find in this area is the lack of enthusiasm exhibited by residents of Whidbey Island for Growler flights and the dumping of aviation fuels into the water table by the Navy. The Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas are large concentrations of retired, active, and former military as are Tacoma. Statewide, about 1-in-16 residents are former military, one of the highest, if not the highest, proportions of any State.

Thank you for pointing that out!  I'm glad to be enlightened.  I'm in the Southeast, and my reference was the unrest back in 2020.

Then again, I have a cousin who is married to a retired Coastie who lives in Oregon, and she's as batty as the come...

Unrest is not always due to a lack of patriotism any more than it is a sign of patriotism.

Anyone willing to marry a Coastie is probably about as batty as you can get. 😁
