I have several questions about the game Gunner, HEAT, PC

Common problem with Soviet tanks (lack of space in turret for good depression (pun intended) 😎

Second problem was insufficient speed in reverse. Not sure if T-80 series were better.

Not got game yet, but sorely wanting...next payday this month maybe.

Yeah, I was aware of that fact. Just my personal opinion what to like it not. Overall I think T-80B is pretty equal to M1 and M1IP is slightly better. It strong point is that FCS is best of all modelled tanks currently (I think LEO2A3 will equal it when it comes).

Top of my head reverse speed feels faster than T-72 but still lot slower than western tanks. Have to actually test that some point.

Its captured the mobility well. I have a tape of Tour footage from the Brixmis guys, and there was some video footage of a company of T80's going across a field in winter, and they flew. I knew a gas turbine gave you impressive mobility, but it was like watching hovercraft. It was interesting in the playthrough they illustrate, you really have to slow down for the stab to keep up with the mobility of the tank.

Yeah, the reverse is better. Its not as good as an m1 in reverse, but its useable.

It will be interesting to see what variants of Leopard 1 we get. I suspect we will get 1A4, simply because its a realtively easy model fix to make the 1A3 from it, and they do seem to have interest in Canadian stuff.

Leo2A4 is out of time frame. I think devs confirmed 2A3 somewhere, but I can remember wrong.

Oh, disregard. You were talking about Leo1

NTW.

What was the difference between the 2A3 and the 2A1?

Nothing that anyone would see in game in practise. First Leo2 were without thermals (so just Leo2). Second patch game with thermals and some very minor improvements (called Leo2a1). First Leos that game without thermals were upgraded to 2a1 standard… and were called Leo2a2. Leo2a3 had few minor improvenents more (like radio set, some hatches welded shut, etc).

Firts ”true” improvement was Leo2a4 if you dont count those thermals that were missing from first Leos (they were designed with them but production of thermals was late).

They did say on the last podcast they are making more vehicles than announced, though it may depend on time on whether they make it in. It may well be that anything new turns up as part of a DLC. I should not be surprised to see Lynx, Jagdpanzer or M48 making it in for the Bundeswehr at some point.

Kanonenjagdpanzer... damn I'd love that! It would barely have a chance against even T-55s, but its a very cool vehicle. And sometimes you need some serious challenge in the game :)

On the NATO side, M60A2 would be nice too, another very interesting tank.

Jagdpanzer HOT I think would be my personal favourite. But   some of the updated M48's would be interesting too. No idea if they are making any of this I should add, just that it would seem to fit the idea they have more models than time at the moment.

Well, they already have the majority of the vehicles to make a 1970's DLC. They have T62, they have M60A1, they have M113, BMP1, BRDM 2.  Thing is, if you go down that road, it probably makes more sense to do a 1973 DLC, which would probably sell better. Other than a few Tanknet veterans, I cant see many going for the dubious benefit of a 'starship'.

Me? Im holding out for a northern DLC, with Chieftains and Scorpions.

Not tried it yet, but if its anything like the T80B then its going to be a hell of a lot of fun to play with.

I tried last night. It is pretty much same as T-80B. Both have that new gun launched atgm ”Kobra”

Sooo.... Whilst browsing the Gunner HEAT PC threat, they had another talk they did with this strange German guy whom I met in London more decades ago than I care to remember. So I better link it for him, because he is probably too modest to do so. And besides, it is quite an interesting discussion about the relative different perspectives that Gunner HEAT PC and Steel Beasts have taken.

Yeah, well thats understandable really. It is largely the same system IIRC.

New GHPC update is out now. New gameplay features are interesting, but I especially like that the developers made all possible variants of NVA T-72s, quite nicely detailed. Also good that they removed the M833 as a primary 105mm round for NATO, and they have the weaker M774 instead. But on the other hand, they should do the same with the soviets, 3BM26 should be the primary for 125mm, and 3BM21 for 115mm. 3BM32 should be an extremely rare round, and the 115mm 3BM28 should be completely removed from the game. It is likely that wasnt produced serially at all.

TBF, its a game. They probably wanted to give the Soviets something better than spitballs to fire at the M1IP.

Thats called challenge. Its good to butcher T-34s by the dozens in a Tiger B, but you need something different too. BTW, east germans werent so lucky even in the game, their best is 3BM15. In fact, I find it quite enjoyable to beat a superior enemy by tactics. Thats why Leo-1 will be really interesting. No armor, mediocre ammo, but with great speed. That will be hell :) But to be honest, Im much more looking forward to infantry.

Im looking forward to the campaign game. Im still hoping it comes out something like M1 Tank platoon. I still think that was my ideal.

Ultimately I wont really be happy until we have a Chieftain simulator.

I'd really want that too. Would be awesome both crewing it, and playing against it. In my opinion, we'll get the Chieftain eventually in a future expansion. Preferably in earlier and later variants too.

Excellent update.

Regarding east german T-72 I still have one final minor nitpick : their visual model corresponds to 60+105+50 front hull armor (or 16+60+105+50 in case of improved T-72M) instead of 80+105+20 (or 16+80+105+20). Visual model for T-72M1 is fine (has 16+60+105+50) but I don't know if in game there is difference in armor array (not just 16mm).

Well I gave them the Chieftain Mk3 Manual. TBH, they seemed more interested in the Centurion manual. I think they perhaps envisage a DLC in the future adding the Canadians, which would be quite a good idea. They were after all in the region.

New GHPC update is just crazy. Tons of new M60, T-72 and T-64A variants! I just love it.

I really hope one day they will add the M60A2 too. It wasnt a big success, but it is an iconic beast, and in my opinion, looks incredibly cool.

On the soviet side, I'd love to see a T-62 with KDT-1 laser rangefinder.

Well Ive got the Gunnery manual for one. Maybe I should tell them.

It worked okish. The problem was the missile was rapidly outmoted by more advanced 105mm gun rounds. Maybe if they could have adapted it with tis or firing TOW it would have been worth hanging onto.
