Yama Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Not anymore, as it turned out that salesmen were lying... For example, apparently they were claiming 3 maintenance hours / flight hour figure for the copter, and in real world the figure turned out to be 30.

More details in this article https://verticalmag.com/features/a-look-at-the-only-helicopter-battalion-of-finland-natos-newest-member/ Aircraft maintenance was the subject of vigorous criticism during the type’s first years of service. In 2014, the availability was less than 20 percent. The numbers improved slowly thereafter, and now fluctuates around 40 percent. “When we bought the NH90, the manufacturer promised us a requirement for three hours of maintenance per hour of flight,” said Nordberg. “The reality is that the need was closer to 30 man hours per flight hour.” To regain control, the Finns are now working on adapting maintenance programs that are now defined by calendar deadlines. There is no doubt that it would be more profitable to carry out maintenance according to actual wear, which would make it possible to follow simpler and less burdensome maintenance plans. It seems crews were very happy with old Mi-8, so NH90 was up to a difficult task. Note difference in starting time in cold weather (15 minutes vs 1 hour). Going back to topic, Boeing losses from 20014 to 2022. In 2023 so far the datum is 245 million $.
DB Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Looking at Boeing's Annual Report for 2022, the reported corporate losses look like this: 2022 - 3,547 2021 - 2,902 2020 - 12,767 2019 - 1,975 in millions of dollars, of course (UK/US comma convention!). They made a profit in 2018 - 11,987 but this was on about 50% higher revenues than 2022 ($101B vs. $67B) .
