Mikel2 Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 Found this case between the UK and Germany. How common were these? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Oehrn
Stuart Galbraith Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 I cant speak how common they were, but they were certainly well known. Its even the central plot point of a really rather good film starring Michael Redgrave. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Captive_Heart Annoys me that my Grandfather was never offered one, but then he was only a private, they were probably more interested in Officers.
Mikel2 Posted April 3, 2023 Author Posted April 3, 2023 Thanks, I'll look it up. Found this footage of a prisoner exchange at St. Nazaire. Safe to assume those Germans were not going anywhere for quite some time.
