The modern Church:

Not really. Could be in name only, however.

The Sparkle Creed by that pastor:  https://pjmedia.com/columns/chris-queen/2023/06/28/the-sparkle-creed-isnt-proof-of-the-decline-of-christianity-n1707028  United Church of Christ

I believe in the non-binary God whose pronouns are plural.

I believe in Jesus Christ, their child, who wore a fabulous tunic and had two dads, and who saw everyone as a sibling child of God.

I believe in the rainbow Spirit, who shatters our image of one white light and refracts it into a rainbow of gorgeous diversity.

I believe in the church of everyday saints, as numerous, creative, and resilient as patches on the AIDS quilt, whose feet are grounded in mud and whose eyes gaze at the stars in Wonder.

I believe in the calling to each of us, that love is love is love, so beloved, let us love.

I believe, glorious God. Help my unbelief.

Amen.

Well when nothing is sacred, nothing really matters, I guess.  Also the Gay Bible re-write apparently is in full swing, so how long before the Pope blesses it?

The joke in Newfoundland was: "What is the fastest land animal in Newfoundland?" "A choirboy"

Also; "Evil Knievel next stunt is to run across Newfoundland dressed as a Choirboy"

I take open gayness in Church over the crap that was allowed to happen and has been hushed up.

I would respect the idea of Church much more if it wasn't infected by woke leftism and degenerates.

Church of England having issues with liberals vs people who believe:  https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/07/church-england-torn-between-liberals-who-embrace-gay/

Man, I am glad I am not an Episcopal/Anglican in this era, the RCC is farked up enough, but nowhere near as bad as the COE and its offshoots..

There is some flow of Anglicans to the RCC. Pope Benedict XVI created a structure to accommodate them.

While I'm not religious myself, I think B16 was rather based.

You were not here when the grate sight membership enthusiastically saluted the election of the Panzerkardinal as Pope, as he was the right-hand man of St. John Paul II.

It was a comforting time.

I thought he was in an anti-aircraft unit? So that would be "FlakCardinal".

It was more a reference to his service in defense of orthodoxy (of the Catholic kind) than a reference to his WWII service.

Isaiah 5:20-21 and 2 Timothy 4:3-4.

Well they seem to be winning at least in many, if not most Protestant churches, and the RCC.  Of course the RCC lost its way when the popes decided to be secular rulers, and more excited by money, art, and power than faith.   Good book out there: The Bad Popes.  Rather shocking for alleged "men of god".

Well, there have been more good ones than bad ones, thus the bad ones made the news.

Then there is always Divine Providence to consider.

Divine Providence seems in really, really short supply right now.

Dunno about there, but around here fellow Christians are the same than when Benedict XVI was Pope.

Being made in the image of God means one should chose God's truths, not man's. These "people" have chosen poorly.
