I know he stopped touring for awhile around the late 1990s, though as I recall he started touring again and finally called it quits four or five years ago. I don't think he gets much attention because he staked out the power ballad genre and rarely strayed from it. His only #1 hit, "Shakedown" is a pop song, and the other #1 hit he got writing credits for, "Heartache Tonight" by the Eagles is also a pop rock song.
