Tim Bachman of Bachman–Turner Overdrive, 71.

Growing up in southeastern Michigan we listened to Canadian radio stations (CKLW) as much as the Detroit stations, thus were able to get an early front seat for groups such as BTO, Gordon Lightfoot, and Heart.
Interesting thing about that video you've linked, Tim Bachman had departed the group before "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" was recorded.

Then you were there when Bob Seger got started? Imo, the most under appreciated rock band in the U.S.

We're homeboys.  We both grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Bob Segar is a true hero of ROCK!

I think he doesn't get as much attention he deserves because he hasn't toured in years. There was a rumor he had throat cancer back in the 80's and that is why he stopped touring.

He toured and recorded throughout the 1980s, his only #1 hit was recorded in 1987.  Shakedown.  I know he stopped touring for awhile around the late 1990s, though as I recall he started touring again and finally called it quits four or five years ago.
I don't think he gets much attention because he staked out the power ballad genre and rarely strayed from it.  His only #1 hit, "Shakedown" is a pop song, and the other #1 hit he got writing credits for, "Heartache Tonight" by the Eagles is also a pop rock song.

Not yet. (It ain't true until Wikipedia says so)

Seger is 77, but I haven't heard any news about his health.  One hopes it's good and he'll be with us a while longer.

A definition of the classic meaning of what is a man. A short description on his life and persistence can be found on Wiki.  Pardon me for sounding a little bitter, but the accolades that go to singers and actors are better put to use associating them with folks such as Mr. Brandt.

On an opposite note, one of the few actors who, imo, warrant a nation-wide obituary notice, was born today in 1907, Marion Robert Morrison.

American double Olympic champion Jim Hines, who became the first man to run the 100 meters in less than 10 seconds in 1968, has died at the age of 76, World Athletics said on Monday.

Hines won gold in the 100 meters at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, clocking 9.95 seconds to set a world record, which lasted 15 years until Calvin Smith ran 9.93.

He also won gold in the 4x100m relay at the same Olympics, before retiring from athletics to play in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs.
