My father, January 31st, 1937, January 15th, 2023.

While suffering from a number of conditions, a slip in the shower killed him.

Not a easy life that of him, but he was loved by all his neighbours.

Prayers will be welcomed.

sunday,

86 years is a good run but that doesn't make it any easier.  I often think of line in the Indiana Jones movie where one of the characters mentions that they've reached the age where time is taking things away rather than giving it.

I'm uncertain whether this is one of those times for a stiff upper lip.  At least in my world it would not be.  May God grant you strength

Thank you very much, Tim.

He was going to have removed the last stitches of the second partial amputation of his right foot, and go walking outside of our aparment again after 2-3 years. Absentmindedness or simply mistaking dreams for current reality was beginning, but it was manageable by presenting him proper stimuli. He loved videos of animals, documentaries of beautiful places and the usual quiz shows. Father of my mother died in worse shape in that respect, so we are used to the starting of mild dementia.

Anyway, wrt stiff upper lip, the thing that raises the levels of dust in the ambient air, or opens the floodgates, are the regrets of things you had not done together, despite having several opportunities, and the awareness of good moments with him not happening again.
