I think it's a little surprising that everybody is focusing on Musk and his coterie as the arch-villains, while nobody's focusing on Jack Dorsey et al. They must have known that Musk had no idea what the f*ck he was going to do with the company (which was why he tried to get out of buying it!).

I mean, look at this total bullshit from April:

With all the juvenile chaos going on in Twitterville, it looks to me like Musk is making money off his haters.

As for all the "X cost Y, Z billion$" tweets (they are numerous), its a paper loss for those who don't panic and sell. And it serves a valuable purpose in the market by illustrating the impact of psychology and panics on short-term investors.
