Murph Posted May 31, 2023 Author Posted May 31, 2023 The AOC parody account is hilarious, the problem is, you cannot tell it from the REAL AOC, she is stupid enough to say that stuff.
DB Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 As I recall, CNN was probably the least worst of the internet sources of the international news organisations. Obviously, we were able to get live feeds via traditional TV from the BBC, but no cable service was available at the office. It wouldn't have been any more or less shocking in HD. What we got was real enough.
Murph Posted June 2, 2023 Author Posted June 2, 2023 Elon apparently has not fired enough of the "Trust and Safety" team members. They seem to not understand his English when he tells them no more left wing libtard BS, Free speech is allowed. I hear lots more Reeeeeing from the left over his allowing the movie What is a Woman to be shown.

Murph Posted June 3, 2023 Author Posted June 3, 2023 It looks like Twitter still has a middle management problem, so more terminations might not be a bad thing... Move it to a real state for Pete's sake, get out of California!
sunday Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/musks-tweet-limiting-move-prevent-completion-ai-censorship-death-star Quote Musk hinted at the 'other' reason in April, when he threatened to sue Microsoft, which has invested billions into OpenAI, after accusing the company of using Twitter data for training. “They trained illegally using Twitter data. Lawsuit time,” Musk wrote on Twitter on April 19. Which brings us to Mike Benz's excellent discussion this morning of what may really be going on behind the scenes, that yet again - the world's richest man could be the only one uncancellable enough to battle. Benz begins his trek with the statement: "AI censorship is where all of the magic happens." He points out, the Twitter Files showed how The FBI might come in and get 22 tweets censored, but AI is how IEP (and other 3rd-party censorship groups) were able to get 22 million tweets censored."
Harold Jones Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 I tried out the new Threads app from the fine folks at Instagram/Facebook, I am not the target market. First there is no web version, so you have to use the iOS or Android app, then there is no option to view only posts from the people you follow in your feed, finally the feed is not chronological. So twitter may be dying but I don't think it will be Threads that kills it.
urbanoid Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 I expect far more censorship on Threads than on Twitter under Musk.
Murph Posted July 6, 2023 Author Posted July 6, 2023 News reports are that there is far more censorship, and it is all on conservatives. Also Musk sent a letter telling Zuckerberg he was going to get sued.
Ivanhoe Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 Some weeks ago Musk twooted a somewhat cryptic message out of nowhere about the "free riders" on Twitter, i.e. lurkers and users who never post. I'm at least 50% convinced this "stop the geocidal AI" thing is just a smokescreen for an attempt to increase ad revenue.
Harold Jones Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 I'm one of those free riders, I haven't posted, liked, retweeted or commented in the 4 or 5 years I've had an account. I also use an add blocker. It's a convenient way to get notifications that writers I follow have something new out and sometimes they point me to things I wouldn't have otherwise read, but if it went away or my account got shut down I'd barely notice.
DB Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Zuck is well known for the well developed nature of his humour. It wouldn't surprise me if the censorship algorithms were cloned directly from his neurons.
Ivanhoe Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 When big corporations re-brand, its usually a sign they don't know what to do next.
BansheeOne Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 I for one love the new logo and think that X employees should wear it on red armbands. 😁
Stuart Galbraith Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Yes, you arent the first one to make that mental connection. ...
Stuart Galbraith Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 (edited) Part of Pink Floyds film 'The Wall'. Thats Bob Geldof there in the lecturn, believe it or not. Edited July 28, 2023 by Stuart Galbraith
Ivanhoe Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Ironic, since Musk's detractors are LW authoritarian anti-free-speech types, in many ways quite close to, uh, them.
rmgill Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 (edited) Who wear red and black and want greater state control of all things including speech. I for one and hoping to get a job with Musk and gain access to the technology he’s getting from the star gate program. The cover story is too well covered and neat … 😝 Edited July 28, 2023 by rmgill
