I remember taking classes in FORTRAN and Cobol.

My programming classes at Uni were with FORTRAN, then went to write my equivalent to Masters' thesis in C.

FORTRAN 77 for me. on a VAX 11/780 or, if we were unlucky, an 11/750.

I think the one I used was a VAX/VMS.  It’s been almost 40 years.

VAX/VMS, my first love (and first real admin job).

And Fortran in several flavors, starting with 77 on the Vax, going backwards to FTN4 and FTN5 on CDC CYBER mainframes, all the way to Fortran 90. Still can't be beat for scientific computing, and safer in the hands of engineers than more "advanced" languages.
