MiloMorai Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Firearms banned at events with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has argued 'gun-free' zones are less safe (msn.com) Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is hosting rallies for fellow Republicans across the country. The "Unite & Win" rallies will be held in Arizona, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Anyone carrying a firearm is prohibited from attending, according to organizer Turning Point Action.
DB Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 (edited) Ah, so the playlist of the "Undermine DeSantis" campaign has been released. Edit: I could at least spell his name correctly. Edited August 10, 2022 by DB
rmgill Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 (edited) This is often a calling card not of the candidate but of the security. Once he becomes a Presidential candidate the Secret Service Will call that shot. It's less than ideal, but there's more than just Politicians to convince that gun free zones don't work. There's one person right here that is certain of the magical powers of the holy words. [edited, presumption was unfair to DB, so redacted/corrected] Edited August 9, 2022 by rmgill
Stargrunt6 Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 STRAP IN FOOLS, IT'S ANOTHER MILO THREAD. GO HARD OR GO HOME.
nitflegal Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 It is nice and reassuring to see the left being consistent. "We don't hate all Republicans, it's just that (insert current candidate's name HERE) is a particular threat to the universe and a super-Nazi." Bush was Hitler, McCain was Hitler, Trump was Hitler, etc. Now all the people who hated Trump as an existential threat are smoothly moving on to DeSantis as being even worse! It would be nice if they could come up with some new ways to attack them; right now it's so repetitive and uninventive. Flabby and lazy attacks and talking points that never evolve or get specific. Its just so damned boring to read the commentary tracks. Were one cynical, one might think this is just bullshit rhetoric and not heartfelt assessments. . .

Also, the left are masters at talking past the sale. A lot of conservatives are now convinced that Bush lied, but all that Bushitler noise just burned the left's credibility. They have something to bring to the table, they just have to drop their lousy rhetoric.

Let's be fair... this is both side of the aisle. Remember the rhetoric when Obama was POTUS? I was a kid but I remember a lot from Clinton, too. There was a member on here just a few weeks ago who espoused how Ds literally were 'evil' along with some other choice words (took them out so it's harder to search for the post). Wasn't rhetoric or hyperbole... pretty sure this poster meant it 100%. Rs and conservatives have no moral high ground to stand on in this regard. We need to be honest about that and make a point that everyone needs to rise above and out of the mud they're slinging at each other. It's the only hope we have to stop this country's downward slide and stay China surpassing us. Edited August 12, 2022 by Skywalkre

I have no doubt that some who truly believed Bush was literally Hitler now honestly believe it's really Trump who is Hitler and that Bush wasn't quite so bad.

Wasn't rhetoric or hyperbole... pretty sure this poster meant it 100%. The thing is, for what ever instances that Trump "TRIED" to weaponize agencies and was blocked by his own people from doing so, Obama DID weaponize federal agencies with investigations, leaks, searches and audits of any number of people by Federal Agencies as payback...and as with Lois Learner, noone was ever really held accountable. Leaking an IRS return should result in someone being arrested and fired. It never did happen. The FBI had managed to garner a reputation as being clean, they've discarded that by the farce around the Hunter Biden Laptop AND the Hillary Clinton Email scandal. She DID have classified material. She DID give it to staff who weren't cleared. She DID violate laws on storage of equipment, apparently to conceal business dealings. She was not prosecutable because of connections.
Rick Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 I faintly remember this: https://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/08/us/politics/obama-may-back-fbi-plan-to-wiretap-web-users.html https://www.wired.com/2013/05/doj-got-reporter-phone-records Yet the alphabet soup of "news" then and now still cozy up to Obama. And Democrats.
rmgill Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 Oh, speaking of gun free zones. Was the Rushdie speaking venue a gun fee zone? Was it legally speaking, a 'stabbing free zone'? Did that prevent the nutcse that stabbed Rushdie from doing so? What was the legality of extra security? This is New York, regular people can't be armed. So.....f
