Odd that they seem to be overlooking ramping up domestic production.  That would not only punish opec by reducing what we pay them, but also increase the global supply of oil so that our allies could pay less.

Not odd at all, the religious beliefs of them and their voters won't allow it until things are far worse.  Or it brings down the elite's standard of living in a way that they can't avoid.

This could look like US govt considers the domestic oil producing industry as less worthy of care and/or respect than the OPEC.

Fears about attacks on critical infrastructure

There are growing fears about assaults on Germany's critical infrastructure after Western nations said that leaks in Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, which deliver Russian gas to Europe, were likely the result of sabotage.

German armed forces Major General Carsten Breuer, on Sunday said that "every substation, every power plant, every pipelines" was a possible target of attack.

Breuer made the comments to Bild am Sonntag newspaper, adding that the current state of affairs was "not quite peace anymore, but not really war either."  

Breuer said Russia's invasion of Ukraine showed that war was possible on the European continent again and added that his team was preparing primarily for hybrid threats that combine both military and non-military activities.

For context, Maj. Gen. Breuer is head of the Bundeswehr's Territorial Command which was just activated two weeks ago to oversee territorial defense, host nation support and domestic disaster relief missions.

BTW what's happening on the Danish side of Nord Stream? The German Navy and Federal Police are deploying a minehunter and one of the new Potsdam-class armed patrol vessels respectively for a diving mission off Bornholm. Since the Swedes seem already finished combing through their scene, I suppose they'll join any effort by the Danes, unless the latter have outsourced the practical side to Germany entirely.

The costs from February compared to now are, for gas, 2.53p / kWh and now 14.04p

Electricity has gone from 19.69p / kWh to 50.39p

Apparently all home solar installation companies are booked out solid for months, with many opting for battery storage as well with the latter on back order due to cell shortages.
