What this attack really achieved is removing one of the carrots dangled by Appeasement of the West party in front of entire political class of Russia: "Just keep up and not sewer relations with West as this winter they will feel economic and social pain of high energy prices and will give us fase-saving surrender we all want so much in exchange for free NG via NS"

   Now this illusion is gone.

Sooo... theoretically it could be the work of Russian hardliners not wanting even the possibility of an agreement? :D

Well at least we'll have a backup assembly point when it's buried on page 2,265 of 2,500 on the other thread in a couple weeks. 😋 Though I guess relevant posts from both could be merged into a new one, depending upon what the next 72 hours or so bring.

Denmark, Sweden view Nord Stream pipeline leaks as 'deliberate actions'

10h ago

The Danish and Swedish prime ministers said an assessment by authorities indicated that the leaks were not accidental.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and her Swedish counterpart Magdalena Andersson both said on Tuesday that leaks in the Nord Stream pipelines were "deliberate" and not accidental in nature.

Frederiksen told journalists Tuesday that the "clear assessment" by authorities was that leaks "was not an accident."

She added there was "no information yet to indicate who may be behind this action."

On being asked whether she thought the incident was an attack on Denmark, Frederiksen said that the leaks happened in international waters and "the answer is thus no."

The Danish Energy Agency expects the leaks from the pipelines, both full of gas, to last "at least a week."

Blasts registered by Swedish seismologists

Seismologists from Sweden's National Seismology Centre (SNSN) told public broadcaster SVT that powerful blasts had been registered in the areas of the gas leaks on Monday.

"There is no doubt that these were explosions," SNSN seismologist Bjorn Lund told SVT.

Which the camp already busy promoting the "it was the Americans" theory will doubtlessly seize on. 😁

Please welcome Polish MEP, former FM and Marshal of the Sejm to this camp.

MoD to this camp (2005-2007), FM and Marshal of the Sejm for another camp, currently opposition, he just changed political affiliations in the meantime. At one point (after changing affiliations) he claimed that not participating in Nord Stream was a mistake, while before he called it a new Ribbentrop-Molotov pact. And some years ago he wanted Russia in NATO. Consistency is hardly one of his virtues. :)

Given that the Russians are not pumping gas through the pipelines at the moment, just how long before these leaks stop?

to the camp of folks pointing at the USA as per BansheeOne, nobody cares for your internal politics

What is the rationale for this? No one wants to destroy or take over Russia as it is just a backwards country resembling any other second world country in a lot of ways just with lots of nuclear weapons as an extra. We buy the natural resources and you can do whatever you want in your country. So why this completely crazy paranoia over Ukraine?

Well, there's a difference about not caring and posting obviously incorrect info, as he hasn't been part of the currently ruling camp for... 15 years. He was (and still is) in fact one of the most outspoken critics of them.

You still don't get it 😂- it's the camp of people pointing fingers to the USA, nothing to do with the belonging to Polish ruling or opposing parties, moron!

Camp of (somewhat relevant) people pointing fingers to the USA, which is a camp of one, i.e. himself? Everybody claims that what he posted on Twatter is absolutely idiotic, no matter what 'camp' they belong to.

Because without Ukraine as either part of Russia or a satellite state there is no Russian empire, because successfully modernised Ukraine would be a threat to ineffective Russian model of... everything, because it would be a blow to Russian 'prestige'. They want to be one of the leading powers in the new multipolar world blah blah blah, they're open about it. Yes, if they simply just had good management they could be rich as fuck just from digging what they have underground and not have to give a shit about pretty much anything, guarded by their nuclear arsenal, but it's not the way they want it to be. Imperial stuff is more important than... basically anything, including half-decent standards of living.

And if you listen to some Russian propagandists/stronkers, they do indeed claim that losing this war means the end of Russia, partition of the country, yadda yadda yadda. They either believe that or at least pretend to believe. In fact they probably realize that losing this war will lead not to partition, but to something even more scary to them - irrelevance.

So the question to the "Russians did it" camp followers -  if there would be NO warning from the US and Baltic Pipe will follow the suit - then it won't be Russia?

The inability of admitting a mistake (especially the silly, non-important one) speaks volumes.

  So that:

meant a 'camp of people pointing fingers at the US' and not the currently ruling political camp? Why list his functions then? Ok, if it did I do admit the mistake, to me it just didn't look that way and still doesn't, to be honest. It just doesn't make any sense.

because I quoted BansheOne (who used the "camp") in my post and you should've paid attention instead of quadrupling down...

When they equalise to the seabed pressure, then most of the leak will stop. Unless of course they keep pressure on it.
