Yea, that's why it's going to be a new HQ. Who will be under it, remains to be seen.

Norwegian media writes that it’s just going to be a forward HQ, and that Finland and Sweden will eventually be put under JFC Norfolk as well (it doesn’t have the capacity for it at the moment, so you will stay under JFC Brunssum in the meanwhile). Norway has also proposed Bodø for its location, probably adjacent to the Norwegian Joint Headquarters (FOH) at Reitan. https://www.vg.no/nyheter/i/O81L9q/forsvarssjefen-vil-ha-bodoe-som-nytt-nato-hovedkvarter?utm_source=vgfront&utm_content=hovedlopet_row12_pos1&utm_medium=dre-64af653c51a71a8fb14e66e2
BansheeOne Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 I suspect this would be the equivalent to Multinational Corps Northeast HQ in Szczecin, which in 2017 was certified as NATO's HQ for regional defense of Poland and the Baltics. There are eight other Rapid Deployable Corps HQs throughout NATO in the UK, Germany (jointly with the Netherlands), France, Spain, Italy, Greece and Turkey plus the five-national Eurocorps, though they don't have the same regional responsibility. In either case, with the accession of Finland and Sweden the Nordic area is lacking an equivalent corps-level command so far.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaw, you're hurting my delicate feelings with your obtusities. Go back to the "As I wish" part. That's a wonderful philosphy.
Sardaukar Posted July 14, 2023 Author Posted July 14, 2023 https://sverigesradio.se/artikel/forsvaret-koper-sablar-for-uppat-50-miljoner Sweden is buying sabers (yes, you did read right, sabers), 1300 for 50 mil kronor (4 mil €). I am glad that Swedish military is finally modernizing their equipment... 😆🤣
Yama Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 They should buy katanas. Have every Royal Guard wear Daisho, adds lot more street cred. Also superior cutting ability and better penetration...

Longsword is better almost every way, except maybe cutting (and type XV blade is verry, very close to it in cutting aswell) 😉
Yama Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 Longsword is nice, but slow in a draw compared to curved swords...
Laser Shark Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 You'd rather want a longsword if you were up against armoured opponents. .... but I like this sword:
Sardaukar Posted July 15, 2023 Author Posted July 15, 2023 I am delighted that Swedish Armed Forces have their priorities right.... After all, all neighbouring countries have had a view that they are mostly ceremonial 😜

Katana/Longsword were just "side arms" and thus little different category. If we choose from medieval primary weapons, then poleaxes are hard to beat (Hit from it is very dangerous even to full plated knight). Or in warfare formations of pike/Halberds and muskets Edited July 15, 2023 by MiGG0

He have agreed to pass request to Parliament and "work with it" - meaning he already got something in exchange for that. Now it will be debated in Parliament, somebody will conveniently burn Quran again, so Parliament will demonstrate anger, and Erdogan will communicate "You see, i am doing my best, but it is not so simple and you yourself is making it more complex, so i need additional ...... and ..... to push it through" and so on. At the same time he will be trying to get something from Russia and all others. May be it is good for Turkey, after all. Currently he is trying to "sell" to Putin his visit to Turkey, for example (no idea in what way it is useful, bit our pro-Western party may want it as "first step to normalization of relations with West" etc). Sooner or later Sweden will join, but not before Turks got maximum possible profit out of it. Well, as expected.....
