Just do what they say. Don't fight. Give them the money. You don't need a gun to protect yourself.

Well, I am getting post retirement subpoenas.  Most are just a royal pain, but one, I will gladly show up.  Situation:  2 year old child asleep in the crib.  Mother (meth addict) goes to work as the assistant manager of a local corner store.  She has a "nanny cam" in the bedroom.  EMS gets called because the 2 year old "fell in the tub"  EMS gets there, and is horrified at the injuries on the child (both broke down and cried when I interviewed them).  Momma's boyfriend is caught doing drugs at the hospital by the grandparents.  Nanny cam shows him walking in, putting on plastic nuckles and slamming his fist into the child's head.  Horrifying video.

The injuries were so horrific, I have never seen a child so brutalized who still lived.  They removed the skull so the brain could have somewhere else to swell, the child was bruised from the bottom of his feet to the top of his head.  Bad bruises, really bad bruises.  The doctors figured that the child had about an 90% chance of dying.  The other investigator who was actually in charge, quit, she could not handle the reality of this.  Another sergeant completely broke down in tears, and almost was unable to restrain himself.  When we were interviewing the boyfriend, he lied, denied, and lied some more.

Mom lied, denied, and lied some more too, but finally confessed that she saw the abuse going on for two weeks prior to this.  We go to trial in May or June.  The prosecuting attorney made an offer of 50 years to do.  But they turned down 50 years, so they are going to go for Life without parole.  If the child had died they would have gone for the death penalty.  I just cannot express how terrible this case was, it almost broke me.   But there is a somewhat happy ending:

The child not only survived, they replaced the skull, he is showing no signs of lingering effects such as epilepsy, etc, and both he and his sister were adopted by the care nurse who took care of him!  His mother lost custody of both kids.  She said no problem, more where they came from.  I intercepted dozens of letters from her to other men, describing what sex acts she liked, and how much she liked making babies since she gets welfare for them.

If there's video the jury should have no problem.

Jesus. When I became a father I started having a visceral rage balls reaction to anybody who would hurt a child. Can’t even watch anything that refers to it on tv.

I've heard that in prison, the prisoners who hurt children are often punished by other inmates. True?

Yes, but not as much as they used to in the past.  You know after this case, I really was never the same, I just was looking for the exit strategy, and hanging on till retirement.

Yes and no. If it really atrocious and the other inmates find out yes there can be retribution. Guards also dislike those kinds of prisoners but hate paperwork even more. There is a lot of paperwork involved in a prisoner assault. There is also  one of the prison rules is you don't ask what people are in for its considered one of the rudest things you can do. So if he can keep his mouth shut and behave he could survive relatively intact.

Prisons will often send those types of criminals to certain wings or prisons in a federal system like Canada they get sent mainly one jail. Guess where I work.

They still talk about one incident where on inmate who was bragging about killing a child by bashing his head against a rock. His cell mate later approached a guard and said,"I killed that piece of s#$@t, his body is in his cell". He had stabbed him so much his head was only held on with a piece of skin and several of the guards had to quit with severe PTSD.

If our governments stopped encouraging mothers from monetizing childbirth and raising children without a father, many of society's problems would disappear.

For anyone who disagrees, fight me. I worked in correctional facilities for 2 years. I had a clinic where I examined disability applicants for the SSA for another two years. I'll be in the parking lot with my shirt and glasses off.

Of all people, Ludacris posted a video on social media talking about young women (implicitly black) passing their kids off to Grandma so Single Mom can continue their 304 lifestyle.

A janitor kid at CNN had three kids by three separate women. He was complaining he was paying support to two and had one that the Baby Mama just dumped on him and left. He then had his then latest GF cone over, help herself to most of the food in the house with a friend and split. I suggested he needed to hang up the johnson and focus on the kids and getting better jobs.

Of all people indeed. In his own words. "I got hoes in different area codes."

An excellent report that is never read or commented on today.

I posted a Hodge Twin's review of the incident over in the Criminals being Criminals thread.

Interesting how he gets released after all that because the fixer for the team comes and backs the player up against the hedge alongside the road and then persuades the police officers to let him go. Even his mother shows up to the scene. If it had been a regular person doing that sort of stuff after that sort of speeding they'd have taken the ride.

I would disagree with you on who was being a jerk to whom.

I have politely dissented with police, even flexed as it were, but I very clearly followed their orders and was never even put in handcuffs for flexing. Because when they told me to do something I did what I could to comply instead of flat out refusing. The player was flexing AND refusing lawful orders.

Rule one, when pulled over, turn off your car (super car or not) and roll your window down enough to be heard and to hear.

He did the later.  Then he undid it, then he did it again.  But the cop wasn’t satisfied with it being open enough to be heard and within the space of a few seconds decided to escalate commensurate with his already escalated temper.  The driver did NOTHING to deserve being manhandled out of his car.  Being disrespectful to a police officer’s sense of superiority is NOT a crime.  And over a speeding infraction?
