 I would have put it in Poland myself, but still, its not like the Middle east has stopped being a problem.I find the logic its easier to sent equipment to Ukraine somewhat curious logic. it assumes that the Black Sea is going to be a viable route in a crisis.

Disappointed the MOD decided to lie about it when they were seen pulling Challenger's out of Suffield. They absolutely denied they were closing it at the time.

I think that Canada is decidedly more pleasant in the summertime than Oman.

But not in the Winter! There was a Chieftain they comprehensively wrecked and had to send it back to the UK for repair, but trying to 'explode' it out of frozen ice in the middle of a Suffield Winter.

Do I think Oman is the wrong place? Depends whom we are fighting. I dont see much logic in sending armoured forces there, seeing as we are not going to invade Iran. Just another example of wonderful British defence reviews becoming irrelevant as soon as they are written.

Oman is basically a client state of UK, that's the only reason why were still there. 

Going off topic but over the last couple of years. Oman has been developing a port capable of docking a US sized aircraft carrier.

Well, it's probably a lot easier to deploy from than Tidworth then.
