Corinthian
Anyone have a photo of the M60 tank with the M37 periscope installed through the loader's hatch? How often was the periscope installed? So far, I have seen technical diagrams from M60 manuals but they do not clearly show just how high the periscope is above the hatch. Thanks in advance. Tim Sielbeck
Trunnion "N" goes in retainer "P." Pretty much everything above "N" will be out of the hatch. That triangular piece gives an indication of how much elevation, + and -, the sight will have. I don't remember anyone ever using it. Allan W
What does the loader need a periscope for in the first place???
bojan
Because 99% of the time he is not actually loading gun, so can be used as another pair of eyes to observe around.
Stefan Kotsch
Seeing as much as possible and integrating all crew members into the observation is essential for survival.
