Dawes Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 (edited) "The Department of Defence (DoD) in Canberra said in a 16 June statement that MRH-90 flying operations have been temporarily suspended as a safety precaution, adding that the issue “relates to the application of the helicopter's maintenance policy in the helicopter's IT support system”. Meaning what, exactly? https://www.janes.com/defence-news/news-detail/maintenance-and-safety-issues-leading-to-extended-grounding-of-australias-mrh-90-helo-fleet Edited June 27, 2021 by Dawes
shep854 Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 At least the problem was noted and acted upon before people got hurt.
DB Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Nah, not Chinese, aliens. Might mean that certain required checks were not properly placed into the maintenance schedule so you'd ground the affected aircraft until those checks were back filled.

Dawes Posted May 10, 2023 Author Posted May 10, 2023 What would be an alternate choice over the H225M?
lucklucky Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 (edited) Probably AW149 or UH60 well NH-90 too but that is another can of worms. Edited May 10, 2023 by lucklucky
R011 Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Or Mi-17. Is there a Chinese version of the Hip? This seems to be a political decison rather than a technical one. The H225M seems to have been selling well enough since the 2000s.
