AGM-179 JAGM and Hellfire for UK Apache

Recommended Posts

There has been wide ranging discussions on this on twitter. I think the idea was that minimum changes from Apache would make it less expensive, which is probably the way to go considering how MOD ballsed up the procurement of WAH64D, and subsequently blamed Westland for it. We are not co owners of the system architecture like we are with F35, and arguing with the Americans about hanging on non native weapons is always a deeply frustrating experience. It was with F35 and we were fellow plankowners of it.

Considering the really very small UK Apache force these days, I dont get what the big deal is. Brimstone is still likely to be a contender for other Army ground launched weapons.
