The new software is great, but what I've quickly come to miss is the "back" button and editable preview when you fuck up and accidentally delete your lovingly formated quote etc. ...

Just couple of peeves...

1) Twitter links don't show properly in Firefox

2) Are plans gone for good? Bummer.

3) ...and this is the most important for me...colour scheme is really not very good. All white is way too harsh especially combined with the 'modern' minimalist graphical design. I have found myself spending much less time actually reading the posts and threads, because the colour palette is grating my eyes. Really need to go to back to old style green or something similar.

Once that we have a set of three moderators assuming also low level admin roles we'll proceed with modifying the theme settings. Happy to have some custom artwork developed, as long as there some consensus what it should be (I propose a Merkagavin silhouette).

If you look in the upper right corner while you're typing a post, you'll see a magnifying glass and piece of paper, click that for preview mode, click the X to exit the mode.

I wish we could open a post response in a new tab rather than having to do one at a time and then going back to find the next one to respond to.

Mmmm might be. Some other forums have same issue, but on some others they work fine. Have to look at it.

Is there a way to get a list of topics with new content? I can get a list of new posts, but not topics.

I saw that, but that gives you a snapshot of your post you can't edit. In the old system if you made a terminal mistake, hitting the browser's back button would take you to the last preview with hopefully most of your previous work saved. Mind, I much prefer a software that won't regularly eat your whole post like the old one, reducing the need to frequently save a work in progress. 😁

I having some strange effects with Firefox on my 8.1 machine, where if you click quote it slows down and wont let you input anything. Strangely it works fine on explorer, and fine on firefox on my other machines. Its a niggle, not really a problem.

The saving posts mode is brilliantly, particularly if you wrote something and forgot to log in first.

Can't say I like this sidebar at all. It's mostly entirely useless statistics, hovers at the top of the page and steals a third of the browser window width in all of the thread page below. I don't think there's a setting to make it go away.

It's pretty WYSIWYG.

So, basically BBcode is being phased out. Can't say I like it, but at least embedding YouTube videos in the standard format should work. Abbreviated URLs such as youtu.be and/or with time stamps maybe not. In that case, please open a thread in the Whine Cellar. Now that we have a current version of Invisionboard and, along with it, paid for support, there's a small but at least non-zero chance that such things will be addressed, unlike before.

Have to say that I miss BBcode. Editing and formatting the posts is much harder without it. Previously when the editor fucked up the format of your post like it invariably does, you just flipped over to Code and saw what the problem was. Now you have no control over that.

Yes. I also don't like the weather, at times.

On the upside, while losing some of the fine grained control of yonder, the board works now much better on mobile devices, which more and more people use if they aren't switching to Farcebook right away.

Yes, sadly the trend with all editors (including email) seems to be that the designers assume that users have only two needs: post an embedded youtube/twitter/imgur meme and respond to that "OMG THIS LOL". Finer points of communication? Who needs that?

I do too, but realize that we all sound like old farts complaining about power steering.

Don't forget those newfangled bucket seats. Tough on the girlfriend.

Anybody else having trouble to access TankNet by phone? For the last 24 hours I've gotten 552 errors (connection timed out), supposedly on the host side. Tried on my desktop right now, and it works as usual.

You're probably still using an old bookmark with the tank-net.com domain which is no longer resolving the DNS for a redirect. The new domain is the traditional one, tanknet.org.

Actually I haven't been blonde since about five. We all started out that way in the family, but by about twelve we had all turned to mouse-brown. Well, except brother #6, who retained a somewhat lighter shade, but then he's the odd guy out with blue eyes, too.
