Nature Reviews Psychology, an imprint of the prestigious Nature publishing group, announced in October that it was "explicitly encouraging" authors to include a "citation diversity statement" in their articles. The statement would affirm that they had made an effort to cite from "a diverse group of researchers" and acknowledge "citation imbalances" based on race and gender.

"[R]esearchers can move scholarship away from narratives that perpetuate societal biases by writing inclusively," an editorial in the journal read. "[W]e hope that encouraging authors to think about citation diversity will prompt them to engage in concerted and sustained efforts to educate themselves about the relevant work of underrepresented scholars."

The policy was the last straw for the renowned chemist Anna Krylov, a professor at the University of Southern California and a member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, who wrote an open letter to Nature stating that she would no longer engage with the group’s journals.

Kudos to Prof. Krylov, it takes world-class cojones to take on the journal industrial complex.

The 2024 election season featured an unprecedented number of Asian Americans, from Vivek Ramaswamy’s rise in the Republican primary to soon-to-be second lady Usha Vance, to the Democratic candidate herself, Kamala Harris. Just a few years ago, this would have been a cause for celebration on the political left: Asian Americans have reliably voted for Democrats for decades. But the election results revealed that racial and ethnic minorities are not as loyal to the Democratic Party as previously believed. Much like Hispanics, Asian American voters made a major shift to the right.

Nationally, 2020 and 2024 exit polls from the Washington Post show a 9-point shift to the Republicans in the presidential race among Asian American voters relative to 2020. In some states, such as Nevada and Texas, the polls suggest that Trump won the Asian American vote outright. The NBC News exit poll found a 5-point shift to the right nationally among Asian Americans relative to 2020. And in their survey of Asian American voters prior to the election, Asian Americans Advancing Justice saw a 7-point shift away from the Democrats relative to 2020.

Bit simplistic. Some Asians are more Asians than others.

Were I a trans youth, I'd appreciate the warning label on her/his/their shirt.

Some commentator awhile back made a comment along the lines of "fatherless boys learn about relationships from their single/divorced mothers" which would explain a lot.

If mom's only interactions with men are with Chad/Tyrone, that sure isn't going to instill a pattern of responsibility in the boy's mind.

What benefit do Derka Derka's bring to the US?  I cannot think of a single thing other than crime, rape, murder, poverty, and tribalism.  Notice the guy, he looks like he has an IQ of 60 and just finished eating Khat.

Supremes vote to not accept Cert in the case against Obergefell.  I have not looked into it too much, but probably a good decision, since it deprives the Crapturd Demonrats of an argument.

The AP reported:

The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a call to overturn its landmark decision that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.

The justices, without comment, turned away an appeal from Kim Davis, the former Kentucky court clerk who refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples after the high court’s 2015 ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges.

Davis had been trying to get the court to overturn a lower-court order for her to pay $360,000 in damages and attorney’s fees to a couple denied a marriage license.

Her lawyers repeatedly invoked the words of Justice Clarence Thomas, who alone among the nine justices has called for erasing the same-sex marriage ruling.

Thomas was among four dissenting justices in 2015. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito are the other dissenters who are on the court today.

When are we going to have Muslim control?  This keeps happening because they come out alive.  It needs to stop, and stop hard.
