Of course the author apparently fails to understand that searching for sin is a tool get power from so constructed sinners, nothing more.

It's the new religion. Regligion transcends oppressive logic, anyway.

From the City-Journal piece

Hooded men spray-painted the police station with slogans and anarchist symbols, renaming it the “Seattle People’s Department East Precinct.” Raz Simone, a local rapper with an AK-47 slung from his shoulder and a pistol attached to his hip, screamed, “This is war!” into a white-and-red megaphone and instructed armed paramilitaries to guard the barricades in shifts. Later in the night, Simone was filmed allegedly assaulting multiple protestors who disobeyed his orders, informing them that he was the "police" now, sparking fears that he was becoming the de facto warlord of the autonomous zone. A homeless man with a baseball bat wandered along the borderline and two unofficial medics in medieval-style chain mail stood ready for action.

We have seen this movie before. So, first order of business is to make sure that Air Force One does not fly over Seattle with the President onboard.

Second order of business, we're gonna need more popcorn.

I'm sorry, I know at heart this is tragic, but that bit from the Reddit piece where the only item mentioned for dealing with alternative water sources was relying on drones had me laughing my ass off. Why am I picturing the author as a 20-year old gamer whose only reference point for anything is video games, movies and subreddits?

Let it go to hell first, and make it a horrible example of what Democrats really want for America. This is too good an example of how evil the Democrats have become to let escape.

Logic comes from the Greek logos. Greeks are white (more or less). Thus, logic is racist.

Yeah this video thought the same.

Well, at least they are moving fast, with quick edits, not like old TV shows.

Step One - Appoint Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone

Step Two - Impose strict border control to keep out undesirables

Step Three - Run out of food

Step Four - Acquire warlord

And this in about two days.

Impressive!

I of course fully support Murph's idea to let this experiment run its course, though I worry, it will burn itself out around day five at this rate. But then I think, nah, the City Council is sure to keep CHAZ alive a bit longer, because this is farce taken to a whole new level.

Has anyone else watched "The Wire?" I think CHAZ will play out like "Hamsterdam," the group of city blocks where the police commander legalized drugs.

..."The Wire?"...

One of the 3 best TV series ever.

For the love of God, this episode was a running gag when my family went to visit relatives in Germany. At one point, my dad, brother and I started laughing uncontrollably about it and we couldn't explain why to our German relatives, because, well, we weren't supposed to mention the war! They thought we were crazy Americans.

Comedy has been murdered by the Left.

Fawlty Towers 'Don't mention the war' episode removed from UKTV

This trend continues, and in 20 years there won't be a voice of calm and reason anymore...

I think your 20 year horizon is optimistic. I think the future is now.

35 years ago the Democratic mayor of Philadelphia had a LW part of his city firebombed by the police. Not only was that act all but memory holed, but the Left has an even stronger hold on Philly.

I'm no logistician, but supplying freshwater by drone seems quite unfeasible.

Discipline??? Ah hell, here come the commissars.

Hey reddit, are you sure this doesn't violate community standards?

So CHAZ burns itself out soon with perhaps some learning life lessons the hard way. And the area returns back to normal, whatever was normal for those parts.

Or CHAZ qualifies as a recepient for foreign aid (US aid really) and continues to exist for years. It initial attracts BLM and hippy types, boosting its population and makes a little income for becoming torist attraction because of its "fabulous" story of becoming a "new country". However in order to remain well clean and worthy of any tourism, an aid plan is created to keep it going in high standard. So an area fully dependent on that aid to continue existing. The aid crafters would be the left side of the spectrum and the story and continuation of CHAZ for years finds a place in the left's political platform.

Or no aid program is developed but also Seattle does not recover that area. So a anarchy/proto-warlord status sets in and starts to spread to the surrounding areas. The lawless nature of the place threatens to spread more as people residing on its border decide to move out and thus the "autonomous" area spreads out more to the newly abandoned nearby areas. The place also becomes fertle grounds for foreign enemy behavior so a US military campaign is carried out to completely recover the place, discovering all sorts of unspeakable low scum pits and dens within.

One would expect such degenerate behavior would be recognized as such, thus a sense of not repeating it would set in. But the basic value perception of what's good and what's not has been turned upside down. So what's degenerate may still be seen as progressive.

The rich are revolting:

The Great Awokening and the 2020 protests are the product of growing radicalisation among the upper-middle-class

Historians sometimes trace modern terrorism to the Carbonari of early-19th-century Italy, but it was Russia that gave it unprecedented importance. You cannot relate the history of czarist Russia in its last half-century without the history of terrorism. As we now associate terrorism with radical Islam, Europeans then associated it with “Russian nihilism.” By the early 20th century, no profession, except literature, enjoyed more prestige among well-educated Russians.

The autonomous zone doesn't seem too autonomous. Also, asking for "men's" clothes is an offense to the differently gendered. Life is tough when you can't just holler for mom to bring more Hot Pockets and a juice box.

"Tracfone minutes card" nothing sketchy at all . . .

Scott Adams has an idea for reperations.

Other points I remember how some cities would have the cops come down on neighbors who blocked off culdesacs for Fourth of July parties. Or, those ranchers who wanted to graze their cattle on BLM land without permits. The press painted them as lawless and dangerous.

But what if the one put it on the list of ask for items identifies as man?

The key is there is no right answer, you're guilty either way.
