 Well the harder but, intelligent thing to do would be to to invest in a comprehensive mental health system including secure mental faculties. Let's all take the cheap option and say "Guns Bad, Ban Guns" and hope a person that really needs help doesn't grab a knife as he can't get a gun anymore. It sure would have been nice to have an effective tool to protect yourself with.

The left has been trying to normalize mental illness. Since Kennedy it was pushed into outpatient. So commitment for significant mental illness is somewhat unusual.

Its sadly amusing that "Caregiver B" moved out of state, tested positive, then disappeared. Monkeypox was going to slaughter us all, but the authorities cannot find him/her/they. The FBI can track down every grandmother who was within 300 meters of the Capitol on 1/6, but can't find an individual potentially spreading death.

It wasn't the FBI or Justice Dept that identified and neutralized Soviet spies, it was the HUAC (House Un-American Activities Committee). Pick your favorite explanation from the following:

• FBI obsessed with internal "enemies" versus external enemies
• FBI leadership riddled with avowed commies or comsimps
• FBI leadership found it politically expedient to ignore Soviet activities because of comsimps in Congress

Plus there have been court cases that claim that locking up the loonies violates their civil rights to be out and about in society.
