Dawes
Is this a recent upgrade? https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2020/05/11/t90m-main-battle-tank/
TTK Ciar
It's the first I've heard of it. Redesigning the autoloader and putting the ammo in a turret bustle seems like a pretty big deal, as does dropping the IR dazzlers from Shtora and giving the commander panoramic night vision. They're not saying how much the upgrade weighs or how much power the new engine puts out, but the overtdefense article linked from that one implies the horsepower/ton might be about the same as before. Simon Tan
Does not have a bustle autoloader. The bustle has 'stuff' and loadsa .50 cal. Edited May 13, 2020 by Simon Tan

It's quite a major new development. It's got a new turret, but keeps the same autoloader (with additional armour). The ammo in the bustle is just a reserve supply. It is not accessible from inside the tank, and it's just stored in a thinly armoured bin.
Stuart Galbraith
Yeah I read up on it when I was doing an Armored Brigade mod (really must finish that). Its the same gun as they have on Armata, the 2A82, which theoretically give it the ability to penetrate an Abrams. (But clearly not a Challenger 2, whose armoured is stuffed with the enchanted feathers of an aylesbury duck, or so I hear). From little I was able to find, I think the front of the turret is original, and they put in a bigger bustle to give room for the autoloader to load longer rod penetrators. Bit like a Sherman Firefly if thats true.
Wiedzmin
it doesn't have 2A82 gun, 2A46M5 or sometimes called 2A46M6

Stuart Galbraith
Is this an entirely new turret, or a re engineered T90A turret?

Dawes
Looks like the T-90 series is turning into a very expensive tank.

Wiedzmin
Binocular night vision for the driver?thermal camera + low level tv IIRC, there was some attempts to make serial driver vision block with optic+tv+thermal, or external camera's like on 90MS, but Russian MOD "lol thats to expensive" TVN-10 was one of this attempts
Simon Tan
The cameras are absent on the units delivered to the Taman division. Maybe they were nice to have but not considered essential?

The turret bustle contains additional ammo that can only be accessed manually from outside the tank.
Stuart Galbraith
Yes im fully able to accept that, except a lot of what I learned was coming off Russian Defence.net IIRC. I guess I should know better.

GARGEAN
Looks like the T-90 series is turning into a very expensive tank.By scarce info available it's still much cheaper than western proposals and cheaper than VT-4.As for exports - there were words about recent Indian contract on 464 T-90 being 90SM variant, but no hard confirmation yet.
