One might wonder about the Quality of Care in New York just on principle.

Haven't we already established that the aerosolization of COVID-19 is the threat, not macro-sized aqueous droplets stopped by masks?

Gotta stick with the mask narrative comrade!

The US CDC is reporting about six thousand deaths out of 332 million does given, or about twenty per million. On the other hand, there have been about seven hundred thousand Covid deaths out of a population of about 330 million so being vaccinated looks like a safer bet than none

Break that ratio set down by risk group and age.

For younger folks the risk factors of covid-19 serious illness and death is exceedingly low.

I don't see a paywall, but then I tend to use browsers that restrict Javascript.

So which browsers ignore WaPost's paywall?

Okay, figured it out.  Went to Chrome settings and turned off Javascript, now the paywall no longer exists however, neither do some other features and even entire sites are no longer available.  Still, one can read the article and then turn Java back on when finished.

Except when said younger folks are overweight.

Even with overweight to the morbidly obese level they generally have to have another severe risk factor.  To put in context, kids with those same combinations of risk factors are more susceptible to influenza.  Given a choice, they'd have a better survival rate if they had Covid. . .

If you want specifics, Comodo IceDragon.

Another trick to "see through" some paywalls is to print the web page using the PrintFriendly browser extension.

There.

I have posted previously, smallpox vaccination in Yugoslavia, 18million doses, 19 deaths. Which compares to deaths from anti-covid vaccines (about 1/million ) or... practically any other vaccine.

"Between December 2020 and July 19th, 2021, VAERS received 6,207 reports of death (0.0018% of doses) among people who got a vaccine, but this does not mean the vaccine caused these deaths. Doctors and safety monitors carefully review the details of each case to see if it might be linked to the vaccine. There are three deaths that appear to be linked to blood clots that occurred after people got the J&J vaccine. Since we now know how to correctly treat people who develop these blood clots, future deaths related to this very rare side effect can be prevented."

The number of deaths these vaccine are linked to already would have been pulled out in other circumstances.

It's on par with any other deaths for that age range for things like Pneumonia.

One of the comments suggests quite plausibly that he's over-reaching with this one, which is not to say that there isn't a potential for concern.

The early data may be from a period when the testing regime was not as well developed - for example, it may be the case that most positive tests were taken after symptoms were present, which is relatively late in the virus lifecycle, when the immune system is already reacting and thus causing the viral load to drop.

Slower tracing leading to later testing compared to exposure time could also affect the time from infection to a positive PCR test.

Agreed. Again, data that should be easily acquired are not, for the most part, available. Thus making it much harder to develop a predictive model for therapeutics; apply therapy ABC during the replication phase, get X percent reduction of mortality and Y percent reduction of morbidity.

In Hungary a doctor from the topmost child hospital said that all the covid-positive children ventilated (without quite serious problems like cancer or Down) were severe overweight ones.

Hmm, people who have made poor decisions suffer the results...why am I expected to GAS?  Sounds like natural selection is working.  S/G...Ken M

Kids that are overweight are responsible for their condition only in part. Parents should shoulder most of the blame.

True, indeed, and unfortunately for them. Those kids were handed a bad deal by life, so it is natural to pity them. Especially now, with a education system, pretty much the only thing that could have helped them, mostly failed.

I wonder if that fail of the education system in more than a few of western countries is one of the reason for the current Commie Chinese ascendancy.

You may have cause and effect backwards. Look at the impact that PLA money in USian universities has had on the moral climate.

Nope, the destruction of inner city schooling had more to do with race-baiters than with the PRC, I think.

We are seeing a huge Delta tsunami in country. But mostly amongst the unvacced. Mother nature is refining her game to help us with overpopulation. Reopening is no longer if but when and we are learning to cooexist with Covid.

Were you continuing the use of antimalarial drugs?
